OT: NBA Playoffs Heat vs. Pacers 05-13-12
Don't care much for either team, but do like basketball.
I'm pulling for the Pacers since they're the underdog, but I have no problem with the Heat winning it all. Pacers only finished 4 behind Heat in the regular season but I get the feeling they have no chance.
Early impressions: Roy Hibbert is a big man. 7'2'' 260 and he looks like he might be bigger. He dwarfs Bosh.
In the earlier game, Clippers won on the road in game 7 against Memphis. Way to go Clippers!!
I never really rooted for LeBron until he left cleveland. The hate towards him is ridiculous and compels me to root for him to get a title. Heat should win in 4 or 5, with 2.5 superstars and all.
Was a bad decision. So was the smoke and proclamation of multiple championships.
Go Pacers.
Maybe so, but get over it already. He's the greatest player on the planet and people act like it's a travesty that he won the MVP. I want him to get a title to silence all the jilted lovers out there.
You bet the pass line in craps, dont you
Yeah, people act like he was accused of rape or something.
You sound a bit heated. Relax. I just don't like how he acted before winning anything. I said nothing about his ability, or the MVP... and I didnt say he was even a bad person. One simple statement apparently hit a nerve.
Congrats on your guy showing up in the second half tonight! Seriously..that was a first. Not bad for "the greatest player on the planet."
Not to take this too literally or to bring up bad memories for Pistons fans, but there was that whole game 5 thing. Granted, Bron has crapped the bed in a few very big series, but he has more than his share of unbelievable late-game performances under his belt.
He moved from Cleveland to South Beach. That can't be considered a bad decision. Everyone in Cleveland would do the same if offered the same job with the same money .The execution was poor, but people forget that he actually raised money for a charity. Blame ESPN for fueling the fire.
It's been awhile but it's nice to be relevant again.
I don't know many Pacers fans. What do you think their chances are?
Yeah even in Indiana all the fans disappeared after the brawl.
I think their chances are okay. They're deeper than the Heat but I expect them to blow some late leads because they don't have a finisher like LeBron or Wade.
Agreed. Their depth is certainly better than the Heat's, but that's been the story all season. Look like a solid team thus far though, no one star...but a lot of guys who seem to play well together.
Don't let the name fool you, but I, too, am a pre-post-superpost brawl Pacers fan.
When the Heat win it all I will never watch ESPN again. Stewart Scott's head will explode sending his glass eye clear through the camera.
Looks like the Pacers aren't afraid to get physical. At the very least the Heat will have some bumps and bruises before this one is over.
This is playoff basketball!
But this ending was expected. When you have no star you're going to look confused at critical stages. At least three more games to go, though.
Heat should win this series fairly easily. I predict 5 games. Miami isn't dominant enough to sweep many teams in my opinion
It's tough to sweep teams in the playoffs on the regular. I would say winning a series 4-1 is pretty dominant.
Him winning the MVP was a travesty. The MVP means if there was no LeBron on the team that they couldnt survive and we know if he left there would still be Bosh and Wade. If Kevin Durant left there would be no thunder but i think Tony Parker shouldve won it and alot of nba guys agree even tho the Spurs could be the worst team to watch, but if there was no Tony parker they wouldnt be the 1 seed thats for sure let alone in the playoffs.
The Thunder without Durant are a better team than the Heat without LeBron. I'll take Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka over Wade, Chalmers, and Bosh, and the remaining Thunder roster is better than the remaining Heat roster.
As for the Tony Parker argument, I agree that he's a great player who had a great year, and that the Spurs wouldn't be nearly the team they are without him. But the exact same can be said about LeBron, and LeBron's simply a better player: he plays more minutes, he scores more and more efficiently, and his impact on the game offensively, defensively, and on the glass far exceeds Parker's.
