Interesting pairing in Washington with RG3 and Cousins. Very contrasting styles and as much as I hate to agree with Kiper I think that Kirk will be better in the pre-season then Griffin. Good guy to push RG3 to get to that next level quicker.

Cousins may be better day 1 but I think he has reached his ceiling where as RGIII with the right development and supporting cast could become a hall of famer.

The Skins can't afford a luxury pick.

Kiper says everything both positive and negative he can about a kid in the time he gets. Then he can always say he was right.

Or not?
April 28th, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
I mean not normally because he's overally genreal most of the time but I agree with what he said about Cousin's being able to push RG3 at first here.

Who does michigan still have on the board? i know mike martin got drafted, Isnt david molk still available? thats surprising
April 28th, 2012 at 12:34 PM ^
Hemingway, Molk, Van Bergen, Koger...
April 28th, 2012 at 12:35 PM ^
Molk should be gone this round, i thought he would go day 2
April 28th, 2012 at 12:36 PM ^
Molk and Hemingway are the two most likely to still get taken. Koger was a borderline guy, but he just had surgery to repair his Achilles, so that'll probably knock him out of the draft. Van Bergen is a borderline guy who's still out there.

ranked further down among centers, probably 4th or 5th round. Not sure which teams have Center as a position of need or that need more depth there, though...
April 28th, 2012 at 12:42 PM ^
Broncos just took a center out of baylor.
April 28th, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
One of the big knocks on Molk is he is "center only." Teams like a center that can provide depth at guard, which they say he doesn't have the ability to play.
April 28th, 2012 at 12:54 PM ^
Plus, I've read concerns that he's really good at certain types of blocking but not others (I totally lack the blocking expertise to know if that's true). So he's basically a guy who does a certain range of things really well, but lacks versatility.

WEAKNESSES
Molk can have trouble sustaining his blocks through the end of run plays. He often has to pull his man down with him to keep him out of the play and finds it difficult to generate enough push early to create a solid hole for his backs. He is reliable to not allow sacks in pass production but can get off balance when setting against bull rushes.

Molk is destined to be a starter in the NFL.
just make
According to Twitter, they moved down 8 spots from 117 to 125 and gained a 6th round pick. Apparently they didn't have a 6th round pick previously.
We didn't have a 6th from tampering charges so this is fine.
ingotten return
The Lions gained a 6th round pick in exchange for swapping spots with the 49ers in the 4th round.
Dear NFL and Kansas City: We're gonna pick in the 6th round whether you like it or not so HA.
Keyshawn Martin to the Texans. I kind of forgot that he was still out there.
EDIT: And Nick Toon goes to the Saints. I forgot about him, too.
Houston
to Saints
gone to Philly
Damn, that trade with the 49ers isn't shaping up too well. Ron Brooks (LSU CB) just got picked up, too.
I would've loved to hear the conversation between Washington and Cousins: "Kirk, congrats on joining the team. We think you have great potential as a clipboard holder."
ronnell Lewis OLB Oklahoma
Like those oklahoma guys. I want Molk in this draft.
Ronnell Lewis is a solid pick, they need depth at LB with Carpenter gone. Not sure why so many people liked Boykins, he's small and his ceiling is Alphonso Smith, pass.
Lewis could be a big time player. He had first round hype for a bit. In a 4-3, he's a situational pass rusher at end.
San Diego State guy drafted.
Where's the NBA open thread? Great game in the works right now.
With an already explosive offense, the Packers are really loading up on defense. Do you think the Lions management will figure out in a year or two that offenses can be stopped and you need a defense?
Lions just picked another LB with a slot they got from Minne.
Not to mention, they selected DLinemen with their last two first round picks. Not saying that Detroit has a stellar defense or anything (they clearly don't), but they're not neglectful of it.
They're mainly special teams or back-up players.
Chicago starting to pull away. Let's see if Philly can respond
The Sixers turn the ball over the least amount of times in the NBA, but we're seeing exactly how good this Bulls D is. Creating a lot of turnovers
Tahir Whitehead? I guess the Lions have abandoned their best player available strategy.
Think he's under the radar because he's from Temple. They say he's physical, athletic and capable of making good plays. Uncharacteristically, they don't say anything negative. (This is from their quick blurbs linked to them on the live draft tracker list.)
Most analysis I've read on him says something along the lines of, "undersized, unathletic, not great instincts, and not a lot to get excited about."
Great first half in Chicago!
This is the NFL draft thread, if you're going to post stay on topic please.
Then start a NBA open thread for me to post in
If there is an NBA open thread, and only CSree comments in it, is there really an NBA open thread?
I was really just trolling hard because I was brored and you took the bait. I win.
Try and sleep with that tonight.
1. About the NBA playoffs first day on a college football blog
2. The Bulls "
3. What you want when no one else is interested in it
4. Or what you have to say if you have nothing more to offer than self-important demands and lack of consideration for other posters.
However, if you're trying to get banned, you're off to a great start.
