ESPN has an "Early Look" at the up coming battle versus Alabama . . . Comments
I really wanted to get some feedback from this board on the ESPN article. Any thoughts have ye?
to look for a more interesting story angle.

Here is my comment. You're welcome.
They are very good and will probably win. But we are also good (hopefully!) and might win. Tradition. For some reason they have an elephant. Lee Corso.
About Heidegger, Eihei Dogen Zenji, and sex.
Sex is pretty good though

that it was a Princess Bride reference.

absolutely nothing wrong with "getting" princess bride reference...I mean it!

Anybody want a peanut?
But where's Brozo?
Wait...we play Alabama next season?...WHAT?!
Somehow we've ended up in the SEC's new North division. Good news is that at least we have a shot at the National Championship now.
I think we're turning S-E-C. I think we're turning S-E-C. I really think so...
I heard the band might not be coming.

New account, I like the name. Who knew Sarah Jessica Parker was an M fan.
Funny vote for you my man!
What does your LA stand for....so many options

...ESPN's Wolverine Nation is what made it possible for a piece like this to be written. Without Rothstein, Van Haaren, Jennings, rather than people saying that nothing new was learned they'd be complaining about inaccuracies, etc.
Here's the link to the TideNation version of this story.
I must say that I really enjoyed the comments by the various fans (Bama and M)! It is going to be an epic battle . . .
Did you even read either article? Come on . . . Flamebait! Really?

Was Nick ever a Spartan? Despite his relative success against UM, Nick seemed to be more about Nick. Lurking Sparty's can weigh in here. Or not.
I don't disagree with your overall point, but of all the freshmen we have coming in, you decided to mention Norfleet? Don't get me wrong, I think he could be a very good back, but not this fall. We have Fitz, Rawls, Smith and Hayes ahead of him. Norfleet is a guy who will probably redshirt, or get Rawls-esque garbage time carries this fall.
Had you said names like Pipkins, Kalis, Williams/Funchess, Wilson or Bolden, I would have been right there with ya. Chesson or Darboh as well.
I mean, it's possible, but with Gallon, Dileo and Hayes already on campus handling that, I don't know if you throw a true frosh in there, in the first game of the year, against Alabama.
Now, if any of those guys aren't getting it done, or Norfleet starts showing some strong reps in practice, it's possible. But if you're going to make a list of the most likely freshmen to contribute against Alabama in week 1, I'm not sure Norfleet is at the top of that list.
Anything you could write about the incoming freshman for either team would be 100% specualtion. Coaches and players won't give you any sort of indication because they pretty much have no idea themselves. They hope they're going to work out the way they think they will, but they haven't seen them in pads playing with other college athletes.
The only realistic thing you could say about the freshmen is don't expect anything from them. Not in game #1 in Jerryworld against the national champs anyways.
This much is obvious
Joe Bolden and Ondre Pipkins combine for 25 tackles, 6 TFLS, 3 sacks and Pipkins recovers a fumble and laterals it back to Bolden who crosses the goal line as time runs out for a M win. Pipkins then finds the Alabama elephant and eats him.
But I agree, other than that, we're just speculating
Alabama's defense is overrated. Almost every offense they played last year was shitty. I'm far more worried about their running game just steamrolling our D line.

This right here. I have nightmares that we could relive a lesser version of the '10 Wisconsin game.
April 25th, 2012 at 10:33 PM ^
The NFL scouts must feel the same way about that overrated defense.

That's funny, I don't remember any NFL scouts commenting on the Alabama defense.
that means they won't be playing against Michigan.
I understand that. The post I was replying to was referencing their defense from last year. I was only saying that there are several players from that defense that will be drafted, and in the early rounds.

Damn didn't think this would be linked to the MGoBoard. Happened to be on ESPN when the article was published and first couple comments I was trolling Bama fans obnoxiously. Glad to see its been buried under 1000 comments.

in the first game of the season. Notre Dame has made me a believer and I think the UM coaches too. The clear favorites don't always win, thats why they always schedule a warm up game prior to the ND game whenever possible. GO BLUE slow Tide.
I have been having a funny feeling about this game... a GOOD one... as in, "shock the world" kind of feeling. A Heisman-defining kind of feeling. While their lines are likely better than ours, if we get more out of the DL than expected, the X factor becomes Denard. If he plays with a summer's worth of improvement over what he did against tSIO ... and just quite possibly we have a 6'5" WR who adds a "dimension" we haven't had recently (DG)... anything's possible. on offense. Release the flash dilithium!!
Yes, I'm drinking the koolaide!!!!!
I think we keep this game close because of our decent defense and their mediocre offense. Then Denard will go "all Denard' on them at the end of the game and we win. Then I get to call in to Paul Finebaum and just gloat every day for a year. I can't wait... Go Blue!!!

Please stay healthy O-Line!
I just want to keep it competitive, but for my own sanity, please no injuries on our O-Line... It will be a war in the trenches, and unfortunately, I don't think we are large enough to withstand that war 4qtrs.
I want a re-match 2015.
Having an offensive lineman in the 2010 recruiting class would certainly be nice right about now...

but I'm starting to imagine this whenever I hear "Roll Tide".
