THE ORIGINAL POST:

A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.

Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know.  I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.

Need some help... I'm in Plzen in the Czech Republic, and have been streaming the games in some seriously lack laster quality on the laptop for the past month...

I'm not going to be able to take that for THE GAME.

So, anyone out there from Munich, Plzen, or Prague that can recommend something?

Tracey's on Magazine street is a B1G friendly bar and friendly to Michigan fans as well. You just have to avoid LSU games, but that is a general rule.

Hey JLo as a TRUE BLUE Michigan Wolverines Fan I truly appreciate you putting together this awesome map.

I used to run a Michigan Sports Fan Club for all the sports fans of The Wolverines, Red Wings, Pistons, Lions and Tigers at Mugs N Jugs in Clearwater, Florida until the owner sold the bar.

I am looking to find a Michigan Sports Fan Bar now in St Petersburg, Florida area. Do any Go Blue Fans know of one in my area?

I too am looking to establish another Fan Club Bar in the area once again. Does anyone have any suggestions in helping me create another club?

Damn!! we better Stop the "SUCKEYES" from their 7-0 streak tomorrow.

Maisy's in downtown Baltimore, Maryland is a Michigan friendly bar/restaurant that has the sound on to all the Michigan games and also has the Big Ten Network.  Within walking distance to numerous hotels.  We also have the NFL Ticket for those displaced Lions fans.

SkyBox at Polaris is not really a Michigan bar... They did let the guys watch the games there on game days and were told that they wouldnt let the Ohio guys watch their games with the michigan guys and that was a lie.  One of the waitresses would talk shit about the Michigan fans to anyone who would listen.  Its a decent place and the waitress Tracey is pretty great but the rest really dont care and really only do anything when they realize they are going to lose your money.

Most of the group who were going was talking about having the watching parties at one of the Michigan guys house.  I can dig up their info on facebook if anyone is interested.  There is also a second bar in Gahanna somewhere thats supposed to be Michigan friendly but I have never been,

Is the Crow's Nest the only place in Nashville for Michigan football? I know the official bar (as of last year) was the Frayed Knot (yuk yuk), but that has since closed.

I mean, I'll drive out to the Crow's Nest, but Green Hills suuuuucks.

Any Lansing area fans have a spot that they watch the games? I am looking for an establishment with beer where I can enjoy the 'Bama game. I am thinking Tin Can West but don't know if that is wolverine friendly.

Also, G Daddy's BBC is owned by a Detroit transplant and is awesome for anything Michigan sports-related. Caught both the Lions-Saints playoff game and the Michigan-Ohio bball game in the tourney there, 90% of the turnout was Detroit/Michigan fans.

Had a great time even though both games were losses...highly recommended, though a bit of a frat atmosphere at times.

To any Nashville Michigan fans that don't live in the nightmarish hellscape that is Green Hills, the U of M Nashville Spirit Club posted today on their facebook that Benchmark on 21st is the new game-day watching locale.

Full address: 204 21st Avenue South, Nashville, TN

Best news: it's easily walkable from my apartment.

We are vacationing next week on Seneca Lake.  Will probably watch the game with the whole Michigan-crazed family (except for the Spartan fan my BIL married) but if someone knows of a place near there where the Maize-n-Blue faithful gather, I wouldn't mind hearing about it.  The map right now shows only NYC places.

Anyone know a place in Shanghai that will be broadcasting the game live this Sunday morning? I see Big Bamboo plans to show a delayed version, but I don't want to have to wait. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The place is called Benchmark, and it's on 21st, across the street from the north end of Vanderbilt.

However, they're only doing 6 games there, and we have to share the bar with Alabama and Nebraska alumni clubs (the U of M spirit club here is...lame), so I'm trying to work out another place to watch the remaining games/the games I don't want to watch with Bama or Nebraska fans.

There are a couple of groups on Facebook you can keep an eye on.

The unofficial one: http://www.facebook.com/groups/20492365847/

And the official one: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nashville-University-of-Michigan-Spirit-Club/112431547869

You can also email me at aaronpj (at) gmail.com, because I would love to catch the non-Benchmark  games with another Michigan fan.

Edit: Also, out of curiosity, do you have plans to go to any Vandy games this fall?

I found this site helpful for locating Michigan bars: http://find.mapmuse.com/map/michigan-bars

It isn't the most exhaustive list, but it has the big ones for each city.

For those (if any) in Baltimore, I will probably be watching the game Saturday at Sláinte in Fell's Point. Maisy's downtown on Charles is another great place that I usually go to for Saturday afternoon games.

Is there anyway someone can put together a more organized friendly bar locations section?  Rather than a thread with hundreds of posts?  I know beggers can't be choosers but I do not have the skills to create something.  Maybe a tab or something of that sort sectioned off by state, city, then broken down by bar with address and phone numbers?  I think that will solve a problem and bring a new cool feature to the blog.

Also, if people in areas don't have a bar, if you gather enough people to a location the bar will usually adopt the team.  Create your own Michigan bar!  Some poeple did it in Tempe at Monkey Pants.  So many Michigan fans went there for games that they now feature menu items, specials on game days, and even hang Michigan stuff throughout the bar without having any affiliation.

So I took it upon myself to create a website and Twitter feed for Nashville Michigan fans, just so you know where to watch the games on any given week.

http://gobluenashville.weebly.com

and

@GoBlueNashville

Now all 12 games this year will have an official watching location, and I hope some Nashville based fans see this and come out. I really want to reinvigorate the alumni base in the area!

I don't suppose there's any regular gathering of Michigan fans in Madrid, is there? I've been making do by watching the games on my laptop at home, but my Spanish roommate just looks at me funny when I wear my "VAMOS AZUL!" t-shirt.

I would just like to add to the list a new Michigan bar in DC. It's called Kangaroo Boxing Club and it's in the Columbia Heights area. It's owned and run by 3 Michigan grads and some other people. It's a tiny, more intimate hole-in-the-wall type of bar, but it's a good alternative to the giant mega-bar Buffalo Billiards if you're in DC.

South in Santa Monica is now an official AAUM watch site, and so is American Junkie at 68 Pier Ave. in Hermosa Beach. I've been going to American Junkie and the atmosphere is great. The night games fall into their happy hour, they throw free jello shots to the crowd for every M touchdown, and you get an awesome winged beer bucket to keep for the season. A new bar opened up relatively recently in DC called the Kangaroo Boxing Club. Used to be a food truck owned by a few UM grads, they made enough money to turn it into a fantastic BBQ bar/restaurant. It has big Michigan flags outside and enough fans turned out that I think I feel comfortable calling it a michigan bar.

Caught the Notre Dame game there, and the only thing keeping me from hurting myself was the ridiculously delicious bleu cheese mac and cheese (with free bacon!). They've got a couple of TVs and a projector. Pretty small place, and it definitely got busy during the game, but not to the extent I thought it would.

$3 312s and $5 two hearted during the games, which is pretty cheap for DC. http://kangaroodc.com/

Beef o'bradys will put the game on for you and other fans are usually there too. Athens does now have access to Big Ten network through cable so more people may stay home but BOB was always fun for us. If you are there first and request it, they will give you sound unless there is a Georgia game on too.
