His family has strong ties to Ohio. His dad married his Dolphins teammate and former Ohio FB player's (Eric Kumerow) sister, and it's rumored that his mother may have gone to Ohio as well. Expect Mike Heuerman (brother Jeff is a current TE on Ohio) to commit this week as well.

Players to really follow are Ethan Pocic, Laquon Treadwell, and Jaylon Smith.  Ohio has built in advantages with Pocic and Smith (Michigan and ND are full on OL and Smith's brother Rod is a RB on Ohio). Treadwell is a real head to head battle between Michigan and Ohio.

Not a DT? Then do not care.

FWIW for our Bucknut lurkees; does Urban plan on recruiting O-lineman?  Excluding Lisle (who looks like a RS candidate at his listed 250+#) y'all have swung and missed on a lot of recruits.  Pocic looks like the most likely addition...but Tunsil is just as big a pipe-dream to OSU as Craven is to UMich.

Dodson, O'Connor and Decker were good 2012 signees.
tOSUs 2011 O-line class is chock full of 2 and 3 stars
Is Rivals right that there was 1 O-line signee (Norman)?

I would be terrified if I were Braxton Miller.  His junior, senior years sound like Denard's 2010 campaign.  Great start, then injuries once the B1G schedule rolls around.

They are now the favorites with Pocic with Michigan and ND full at OL. If Pocic wants to stay in the Midwest and play for a traditional power, Ohio is his only choice left.   Ohio rolled the dice to sell out for him, and it may pay off for them.  Pocic and Lisle would be a good haul, and there are enough solid prospects out there that I'm sure they will be able to get a decent third OL if not a super.   Never would have predicted the ridiculous OL recruiting classes that Michigan and ND would pull before May...

No crystal ball needed before that announcement. After that 'school up north' comment I can't wait for our Oline to make him eat dirt.

[EDIT] Is there something on this post I can click on to state how REDUNDANT this is?

I am a bit suprised of the lack of sucess we have had in getting some big time DE the last two years. I thought with that being Mattison and Hokes speciality the big timers would be signing up the way they have for the OL.

What Magnus said.

Also, someone may correct me if I'm wrong (Magnus), but I think the knock on many of our D-Line/DE commits is that they need to get in the weight room and bulk up or work on technique. There's usually not too much criticism of their physical abilities. If any coaching staff can teach and get the most of these kids talent, it's Hoke and Mattison.

Charlton: needs bulk and technique

Ojemudia: needs bulk

Godin: needs technique

Wormley: questions about motor

Strobel: needs bulk to play SDE, not so much if he plays WDE

I'm right for the most part in that generalization. And if so, I have complete confidence in the coaches ability to do what is neccesary. Which in turn means I have complete confidence into these guys turning our D-Line into a terror for opposing teams.

I heard there will be blood on the field, but that it won't belong to one Mr.Kalis.

M v. Ohio will  be epic for the next 10 to 15 years.  I suspect we'll be squaring off twice a year several times in this span.

Nothing to see here Little Prince Dantonio.  We all know you're the new boss.

maybe we did only because I thought the staff would go for the best available player if some scholly's open up. Ideally, I would like to beef up with some more interior  D lineman and 2 more wide recievers along with Isaac.

Word from the street is that Michigan cooled off on him.  Besides he isn't very good at football.

OSU has some great players coming in on the D-Line. If the coaching staff there coaches them up correctly they can be scary. But Neal doesn't really scare me, looks very slow on tape, even a lot of people at 11 Warriors feel the same. They should be more worried about recruiting skill positions than anything now that they've filled up on the D-Line, because besides Marshall, they don't have too many players fit for Urban's O.

Zeke Elliot is a speed back, Baugh is a big, fast, Hernandez-type TE, and Shelton Gibson is rumored to be a silent commit who will wait until his mother's birthday to commit. These guys fit the system pretty well. Otherwise, James Quick is interested, but this is where the lack of scholarships really hurt.

Elliot is a speed back, but he still doesn't seem to be the perfect fit IMO. He reminds me of a Rainey or Demps, neither of whom ever seperated themselves to become a back you're really scared off. And Elliot is still the only committ, him as the only back doesn't really scare me.

Baugh seems good. Gibson is rumored to be a silent committ from what I've read on 11 Warriors, but so was Lazard. I've seen a ton of stuff with him and Auburn as well. And only Rivals seems to be overly high on him.

As far as our offensive recruits, Jalin Marshall is the gem of the class. OSU fans are drooling over what he may do in Urban's offense. Speed, athelticism, shiftiness, and strength. I've seen him play in person 4 times and the kid is legit. If I had to pick one kid in the class that Michigan should trade for if they could, it'd be him. After Denard leaves, I don't know if you'll have anyone on the roster that can make the kind of crazy plays this kid can.

I mean, any predictions about a guy like Elliot is speculation, but he has the skill set to be Urban's kind of playmaker. And Gibson hasn't talked to Auburn in a very long time. His situation is different than Lazard's. Urban slow-played Lazard to try to see the options open, and Lazard got won over by another school. Not saying it can't happen with Gibson too, but he has a committable offer that he's waiting to announce on.

It makes me laugh seeing their class almost full already because when they had 5 commits OSU fans were all saying "Meyer is holding off on commits until kids prove themselves at camp" and "scUM (god I hate that) may be getting some commits, but it is stupid to fill up youc class early because you miss out on the senior year late bloomers".  Now they cannot stop drooling over every guy that they get. Hypocrites at their best.
