Brian Cook: Trapped in a chair, but unable to write?
Let me be the first to say that this week has been an extreme disappointment so far. There was a good Spring write-up a few days ago, but nothing else since. I was under the impression that Brian's misfortune would result in the best week of front page writing since the coaching transition.....
And "Physical Therapy" is a really poor excuse.......

Sorry to hear that your expectations haven't been met.

The expectations are not for the player, they are for the position.

You're right, we all deserve so much better than this. I'm canceling my subscription this instant!
come on, people, this is funny.
Don't forget, this is HTTV crunch time here as well. If you only knew how little I've slept this week. Ace has been working like nuts as well. Mathlete contributed an extra. I've got one more thing in the hopper that I have to edit. I mean c'mon; our Denard Robinson is banged up and we're doing our best.
Okay, so I do realize you were just being like "c'mon, RELEASE THE COOKCRACKEN! because stoned Brian writes better than 99.999% of people and is funnier than 99.9% of Brians. I'm just venting.

I think that he's been tied down by his progressive metal band.

I guess he does still play for the Wizards......

What is there to write about in the offeason? We've got 100 or so days till Fall Practice opens up, I'm sure we'll get quite a lot of content before then

You must be new here. The off-season is by far the best time to be around MGoBlog.

I downloaded Final Fantasy 7 about a week ago on the PS3. I bought the remastered God of War 1 and God of War 2 collections from a pawn shop last night. What should I play. I can't make up my mind. I've seriously been sitting here for about 20 minutes trying to decide. HELP

And the only good spartan, is a fictional spartan. Play some God of War!

Do what you want with your nintendos, just stay off of my lawn!

I would go with Final Fantasy 7. That game is a classic in my e-pinion.

I've put a few hours into FF7 since downloading it, and its just as good as it was when I was 16. The problem is the game pace. Even with all the settings turned up, it just moves a little bit too slow.

I recomend Trials Evolution out today on XBL.

The most spectacular post may be the one that keeps the reader guessing as to whether the OP is serious or not . . .

He just had major surgery. Sure, we see athletes tear their ACLs all the time. Our thoughts are "6-12 months, good as new, hope he can trust his knee." and we file them away. Seeing my dad go through an ACL repair... the injured can't just file it away. Getting out of bed in the morning can be a struggle. Showering. Sitting on the toilet - don't want to mess up those stitches in your knee. I don't know where Brian lives but if there are stairs? Those are going to suck every time he has to walk up and down them. Depending on which leg maybe he can't drive. Maybe his brain's still fried from drugs. You know what? Maybe he is working on the server/webiste upgrades, or the magazine, or some of the free content that you pine for. Let the man recover. Or you could just ask for a bicycle.

I was actually intending to post that picture in the OP, but couldn't find it for whatever reason.

"Wedding Crashers Balloon Bicycle"
Was the top hit. I was just going to post this:

Good observation. I destroyed my ankle two years ago (roughly the same injury Troy Woolfolk had) and after surgery I spent a month basically living 24 hours a day on my living room couch. I had expected to have more time to think and do intellectually engaging stuff, but the lack of movement and exercise depressed pretty much everything I would try to do. I was a zombie. Wouldn't surprise me if Brian has a harder-than-normal time just deciding what to write.
Everyone knows bloggers live in the basement.

I see that stuff has Nitric Oxide as the main ingredient, and that's what I use as well. The stuff I've been taking for a couple years is called Nitrix, and I really like it.
April 18th, 2012 at 11:12 AM ^
Not necessarily. More into a balance of mass and tone. I really just want something that gets the most out of my work-out.
EDIT: OK, now that you changed your post, my response makes no sense.
Yeah, I guess the question I was asking was specifically about NO supplements. I'll look into the Nitrix, thanks.

Check out Akea (pronounced just like Ikea, but with an A). It's obviously not specifically intended for workouts, but it is a natural way to increase your energy levels. My dad's been using it lately and he's had a noticeably higher energy level during his workouts. I haven't used it myself yet, but that's just because I don't have room in my budget for it right now.
If you're interested, I can put you in touch with a distributor.

I take Jack3D before my workouts. Worked up to 2 scoops. My baseball coach buddy recommended it. It does get you "up" for your workout, but it seems to fade somewhat quickly. I take two scoops and wait until I feel like I am sunburned then I get after it. DO NOT take before doing cardio unless you like the feeling of heart explosions.
April 18th, 2012 at 11:47 AM ^
I've read good things about that as well - it was recommended on a handful of the same sites that led me toward muscle pharm.
How quickly would you say it fades? My weight routines usually only last around 45 minutes (which is why I like to take something because I don't have time to rest at all in between sets).
