One word for Mr. Richardson:  WINNER.

Shoot, I hate reasons to hate Nick Saban less.  But I couldn't finish the video, that was remarkable and beautiful.  Class act, Mr. Richardson.  And what a smile Courtney had!

This was a cool thing to do. Helps me like him a bit more after the heisman ceremony. Not that he came off in a bad way, he just seems not very well spoken which is putting it as nice as I can. Hope his mom gets better.

Dislike is a bit strong but I did kind of think typical SEC. I thought it was another kid who skated through class on his way to the NFL. This act shows kindness and best of all, he really didn't have to do it. To sum it up, he proved me wrong and I couldn't be happier.

Typical SEC? In case you haven't noticed, the SEC is in the south. That's how they speak down there. It's hard to understand him. The reason Denard doesn't sound as country as Trent does, is because Denard has lived in Michigan for the past 3-4 years. He's learned how to slow down when he speaks and annunciate more.

But just because he doesn't speak as clearly and proper as you, it makes it "typical SEC"?

Sorry if I got too emotional but I have family members down south, and that's how they all speak. Get over it.

This was a very generous thing for Richardson to do and he definitely deserves props for it. Not aware that Richardson's mother is battling cancer as well, which makes this all the more meaningful as it is a plight that is deeply personal to him. Awesome story of giving back to the fanbase.

Class act. Got to say, even though I'm hoping my Bucs take Claiborne, I'd love to have Richardson on my team. Not just because he can level defenders, but because of the character traits he has. He must be a really positive force in the locker room.

Trent Richardson is awesome, even though I tend to hate anything associated with Alabama football because of Nick Saban.  He is an absolute beast and works his ass off.  Props to him, I hope he gets drafted in the first round and tears it up in the NFL.

Best dude.

Also, sarcasm is an art and there are a few people in this thread that should seriously consider never trying to use it again.

Edit:  To clarify, this is not a situation that sarcasm should be used in and it was used poorly earlier in this thread.

I'm all teared up and choked up watching that story. My favorite post today. Thank you TxWolverine44 for putting this up. What a gentleman Trent was. Three more things:

  1. There are some nice guys and winners out there, and Trent is one of them.
  2. It isn't always about "who is better." I love Denard's infectious smile, but sometimes, it is just good to be thankful for multiple "good guys." I don't care who of Trent and Denard is more articulate or well-spoken. They are both winners in my book.
  3. I personally (forget about Mrs. Kass) am chagrined and disappointed at some of the comments. It isn't funny, and it isn't what every guy on every team is all about. There is a time and place for most everything. This certainly was neither the time nor place for Trent and this young lady. Enough said. EDIT:  I get sarcasm. And just think there is too much of it. To each his own.

I heard that a different Alabama player asked Courtney Alvis to prom, but Saban grayshirted him so Richardson would be able to take her instead.

This should be required viewing for every college athlete.  It's nice to see that someone who has every reason in the world to be arrogant and self-serving turned out to be so humble and brought such joy into the life of someone who has already gone through more suffering than most people twice her age.

Actions like this confirm my faith in humanity. This young man has found it in his heart to share his good fortune with someone in need of support. That is a wonderful thing.

It goes to show how little I know about him. The last thing I remember reading about Trent was his controversial plans to visit a rival school after signing with Michigan. The whole situation seemed immature at the time. Now he goes and does this and flips my image of him 180 degrees.

God bless you Trent.  You are a winner in my book!

Class act! What a great way for him to give back to his fan base - especially with his mother going through cancer herself. I'm impressed.

I heard about this last Friday on XM 91 and forgot to post it.  I thought this was such a great story.  My respect for Trent has increased exponentially after learning about this.

Partner, there has already been about 15 comments deleted for making the joke you're making and implying what you are implying. Bald? Really? I'm guessing you're making a chemotherapy joke?

Grow up.
