Wings/Preds at 12:00 PM EST today on NBC (also on CBC) - Flyers/Penguins to follow at 3:00 PM EST on NBC.

Panthers/Devils at 7:30 PM EST on NBCSN, and Kings/Canucks in the nightcap at 10:30 PM EST on NBCSN (on CBC).

Besides the Wings game, who are you watching? Of the other three series, who needs a win the most (Pittsburgh, Florida, or Vancouver)?

I think that the Canucks really need to get a win today, otherwise they down three games to none and more than likely are one and done.  This would make a lot of sense though, they play in the Northwest, they are the only team from their division to make the playoffs.  I have been saying this is similar to the Wings teams of the mid 2000's.  They were both able to beat up on their division and then when it comes to playoffs they just aren't as good as their record shows.

Of course, i think if Pittsburgh is able to just get one on the road against the Flyers they should win their series.

To be honest, I think if anyone in the playoffs can blow a 3-0 series lead, let alone 3-1, it's the Flyers. It's combination of the Penguins being probably the most talented team from top to bottom in the league and my feeling that if the Penguins win one game, the Flyers could melt down very quickly.

I'd say missing Daniel Sedin is a huge blow to the Canucks. When they have both the Sedins, that line is one of the best in the NHL. It gives them more balance between the top two lines as well. They've struggled on the PP and they've also given up a couple shorties. Last year, their power play was unstoppable. They scored 19 goals on the power play last playoffs. This year, they've yet to score (I know, two games and SSS).

I'm not sure you can blame their division because this is a team that was one game away from winning the Stanley Cup. Many of their players have been battle tested and know what it takes to get to the finals. I'll tell you somethnig though, Vancouver is a team people want to play harder against the way they play. I feel like the Kings have elevated their plays and the Canucks don't know what hit them.

I personally think Vancouver is done.

Playoff hockey. Have had two TVs setup in the living room since game 2 (I learned my mistake game 1 after too much channel switching between Pens/Flyers and Wings game).

I think the Wings will win by two today. I also hope the Flyers can practically seal their series, but the Pens aren't going to back down easy.

Vancouver will probably hack, slash and cheap shot their way to a narrow victory. But I really hope they get swept out of the playoffs.

I concur with everything you just said. I'm less confident about the Wings, but I do see them pulling it off today to take the series lead.

Ha ha!

Instead of having to put with that boring and always predictable playoff hockey, here in Cleveland I get to watch the Indians vs the Royals on our NBC affliate.  Talk about an embarrassment of riches, The Indians own Umbaldo Jimenez squares off against the always tough Luis Mendoza in a early battle for 4th place in the AL Central.   Man am i lucky!

And because deep down I am a selfish prick I am NOT going to post the video feed to this exciting game nor am i going to give you guys the scoring updates I know you crave.  I'm going to just enjoy this thriller on my own and leave you guys to that silly old hocky game.......

In nearly all tv markets, hockey is going to come in behind any other major sport. Even playoff hockey. Add in the fact that it is a local baseball competing with non local hockey and it is pretty much a no brainer for the tv station.

I'm not so sure David.  The Indians drew a whopping 4k paid attendance for their game last week against the White Sox and actual fannies in the seat were much, much less than that.

Shitty team + unknown players = fan apathy.

I'll bet you if the Wings game....hell ANY playoff game...was up against the tribe right now the hockey game would win.  This Indians SUCK.

control play better. Nashville is good but they aren't that good. We score here and
momentum will shift.

Same reason the Pens are down 2-0. Ton of talent, short on agression, intensity, and heart and get pushed around by teams that do have those things.  Weber continuing to have free reign on the ice is evidence of that.  The Wings look like they're skating in mud compared to how the preds are moving around out there.  Unless something changes big time in the 2nd, I don't have a lot of hope for this series moving past a game 5.
