Nebraska Spring Game canceled due to storms

The athletic department is expecting to lose $400,000 because they can't sell concessions and memorabilia. That's just crazy.

Nebraska is the model for fan enthusiasm. I wish that Michigan could get everyone to dress in maize and get 80K to the spring game like they do.

I'm all for maize outs when it's warm weather outside, but having a maize out for the osu game is never going to work. Almost no one owns a maize coat and only some people own maize sweat shirts. People shouldn't be expected to wear maize when it's freezing outside.

True, but the average temperatures in Ann Arbor in late November are a high of 42 and a low of 29. So most years, it will be in the 30s during game time.

Buy XL or XXL maize t-shirt for 10 bucks. Put said shirt over jacket. Ta da. Our fans are good at showing up and can get loud (ND) but we aren't a rabid fanbase, passionate sure, but rabid and passionate are two different things and schools like lsu and nebraska and others literally make football what the world revolves around and a majority of our fans don't do that.

Yea, but even when it is warm out and they pass out maize t-shirts, many people still don't even put them on even if they grab them. I make every effort to. Even if its cold out, I'll wear under armor, a t-shirt, hoodie, and then put a maize t-shirt over the hoodie. If its any colder than that though, or rainy, not much you can do. When they pass out shirts, they are generally only one size: X-L, so many people could even wear them over other clothes.
I was even looking for a maize coat and figured since the university promotes maize so much with maize-outs and such, that the M-Den would have at least one maize coat. I was suprised and disappointed to see they did not offer such a coat.

or more in yellow rain coats, had one when I was a kid, with a Davey Crockett lunch bucket. Got my ass beat frequently.

Ever been to Omaha? It's actually a really nice place to live. The College World Series is a blast. Hard to beat the Husker loyalty though. On game day, memorial stadium becomes the third highest "population" in the state behind Omaha and Lincoln.
Michigan Stadium is somewhere between five and seven on game days. Only Detroit, Grand Rapids, Warren and Sterling Heights are always larger.
Interesting to know. Wonder if there are any teams out there that have stadium capacities larger than the most populated cities.
I actually really like the Huskers' fanbase. They strike the perfect balance betweeen enthusiasm and class.
I've been to the Red White game before. A big part of the excitement is that it plays out like an actual game. I'm not a big fan of our "open practice" style spring game. It's probably limited by the roster, but letting captains draft teams and having a real scrimmage could probably bring in a bigger crowd.

Thank God the weather was the way it was today. I had faith it was going to be alright, and I was right. So glad things came through.
Blue winning 17-0 gives them a 28-26 edge in the series against Maize/White in the Spring Game.
If anyone cared, I caught up with Kendall Fuller to get a reaction on his visit. Seem like Clemson, Va. Tech, and Michigan are going to end up being his final three. http://mgorecruiting.blogspot.com/2012/04/cb-kendall-fuller-update.html
