1989 Michigan Basketball Title Game on BTN right now
Was Tommy Amaker the coach of Setan Hall this game? I know he used to coach there
Not sure if serious....Tommy had just graduated from Duke a few years earlier and was an assistant with the Blue Devils at this time.
I want to say P.J. Carlesimo was the Seton Hall coach at the time. A few years after this game, he left for the Portland Trailblazers, as I recall.
The truth.
Yes, the same PJ Carlesimo that left for the pros, where he met a young man named Latrell Sprewell, and the rest is somewhat humorous history . . . .
(not so humorous if you are a Carlesimo fan, I guess)
Does Glen Rice have any eligability left?
COVER THAT AUSSIE GAZE?!
This tournament is the best coaching job that Bo ever did.
derrrrr.
MICHIGAN WINS!
Big smile frozen to my face. Like it was yesterday. That's one of those big moments that defines your life.
as when it actually happened, but man it's always fun to watch.
A tremendous amount of talent on that team: Rice, Vaught, Mills, Robinson, Higgins. Amazing that we lost 7 games that year.
I will forever love Glen and Rumeal.
Ah, if only Steve Fisher had won two more National Championship games. "If only" he had done a lot of things...

I never realized how questionable of a foul it was that sent Rumeal to the line.

Yeah. My girlfriend at the time was from north Jersey and it was difficult to wear Michigan gear during the next few vistis to her place. The entire play was the karmic opposite of the UNC game in '93.

I am surprised how that foul never gets any media attention. Michigan probably won the game because of that call.

If it had gone the other way.
At around the 51:45 mark, with different angle replay

I can't start my own thread, so I just thought I'd post this on a basketball related thread to be helpful. Tickets for the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival on Dec. 15 featuring Michigan vs. W. Virginia went on sale a couple days ago. Here's the link for anybody who wants to buy some. I didn't see this announcement anywhere, so if everybody already knows this, then sorry for being redundant:
