OT: MAC Schedule Released

Submitted by Maize_in_Spartyland on

MAC football schedule was released today. For those who didn’t know, the MAC was supposed to be a 14 team league with Massachusetts joining the East Division and Bowling Green moving to the West Division. With Temple’s decision to move to the Big East, Bowling Green moves back to the East Division – back 7 teams in the East and 6 in the West.

The MAC schedule can be found here.

The Big East football schedule was released Tuesday. The schedule for all Big East teams can be found here. Temple may elect to play an 11 game schedule, or they may add a game (likely an FCS opponent) to get to 12.

That should complete all the schedule releases for FBS teams in 2012.

I agree with you on this.  For those who need a reminder, as I did, here are the Big East teams in 2012:

Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse, Temple

It's crazy that at least one BCS team will come from that group while no more than two can come from the SEC or Big Ten.

Is it just me or does the fact that the MAC out-of-conference games include teams from the Missouri Valley Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, the MEAC, the CAA and others make the "conference food chain", if you will, just that much more clear?  I imagine these are payout games on some level, particularly for the FBS conferences, but I don't know know how much the MAC can dish out to these schools...
