will be thrilled. I wouldn't mind seeing them win it all one bit.
Go FSU!

At least it is not one of those teams I can't stand . . . you take a guess as to who a couple of them might be!

MAKE THE CCHA PROUD!
Who cares about the CCHA (Gongshow)! On our way out!

You have no idea how many bad games I sat though at Ewigleben, how many bad teams I watched, how many times I saw us get so close to getting to the Joe/getting to the tournament, only to let it slip away.
I never thought I'd see this day.
Ferris State University, Class of '96

My two all-time favorite Bulldogs: Brett Colborne and Chris Kunitz. You would have been around Big Rapids for Colborne (and other good ones like Kevin Swider and I think Brian? McCullough). I was sports editor and later editor-in-chief of the Ferris student paper in the late 90s and early 00s. Got a grad degree from Michigan and am currently getting a grad degree from Ohio University. Oddly enough I thought there was a good chance for a Michigan-Ohio basketball matchup and Michigan-Ferris hockey matchup. The wife is an FSU grad, too, so at least now we'll be routing for the same team in the Frozen Four.

The Torch! I'm mildly amazed Popovich didn't kill that paper, along with the rest of the University. She almost got her wish. :(
My freshman year we had John Gruden, and then Andy Roach arrived the year after. Jason Blake was there for a season, and then the crew of Joel Irwin, Kevin Swider and Kenzie Homer came in. Jeff Blashill was our goaltender after Craig Lisko graduated. Trust me. Blashill's a far better coach than he was a goaltender.

This is a team that deserves to go the Frozen Four. Frankly they deserve to win. Lots of struggle for that program - this could be a defining year for them....

So weird and cool that the final will feature either Ferris State or Union
a D2 school with a D1 hockey program.
Union, a D3 school with a D1 hockey program

Ferris could be the 6th school from Michigan to win the NC in Men's Hockey.
All I can think of is "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN US"

i don't like their chances going up against a veteran bc/mn/nd team in the finals, but i love a good underdog story. especially since bc/mn/nd have won it before.
i go to the frozen four frequently and when michigan isn't there, i cheer for the team with least obnoxious fans. that is never, ever mn or nd. umd last year - do they have fans? - picked up the nd fans after michigan beat nd. nd fans seem to be generally insufferable.
go bulldogs (of either variety), eagles or dutchmen.

while i'm here, how about a big shout out to shawn hunwick for the most improbable and incredible career ever. i'm there with the guy who said 'oh, crap,' when hogan went down against nd in 2010. hunwick has replaced my fear with confidence and he's such a quiet leader. almost like denard without the electric smile and dilithium.

I can actually finally root for Ferris in a sport since i went there..
I started there when the Kunitz era was wrapping up, so it is cool to see them have success again.

Congrats to Ferris. Sucks that UM didn't get a shot at them, but at least a CCHA team is making a run.
The hell with them.
They wouldn't root for Michigan to win it, so why should I want them to win?

Whoever marked this as flamebait, get some thicker skin... this is hardly flamebait.
Michigan alum, currently attending Ferris State - college of pharmacy. I'm happy one of my two teams made it out of green bay!!!
Go bulldogs!
As a resident of Big Rapids, I couldn't be happier, other than seeing Michigan make it as well, of course, but it's a great thing for Ferris State. Good luck the rest of the way!!
If not us, why not them? They don't have a huge fanbase, but they have good fans and they've never seen any success like this. That goal after they killed the 5-minute major was astounding. And there's absolutely no guarantee we would've beaten them if we had advanced, even in regulation; Ferris is a good team.
North Dakota is out, so the rest is gravy from a historical perspective.
