Right now in a half court set he can't get to the whole without multiple moves,.  hesitations, stop and go.  He really doesn't have a one step blow by move that you need in the NBA yet.  Evan Turner was same way.  Took him 7-10 seconds to get to the hole, reverse dribble , behind the back, studder-Not happening in the league.

He is good, but I don't know if he'd be a 1st round pick.  And for those asking that he call Darius Morris, no, Morris was a 2nd round pick, but still is making 1/2 $Million a year.  He's going to stick in the league and make enough money for the rest of his life in just a few years of work.  There's no reason to think Burke can't do just as well as Morris and he could be a 1st round pick and be guaranteed millions, if scouts start telling him he's a 1st round pick he is gone for sure.

This would devastate the U of M team for next year.  Burke was the super star in the making.  I'd say it's a coin toss right now if he'll be back.

Welp, for those that hate going weeks on end without some blockbuster news (recruiting, scandals at other schools, etc...) involving UM athletics...this goes to show that sometimes peace and quiet can be a damn good thing.

Here's to hoping that Trey stays and disaster is averted.  Either way, we have to wish him the best if he goes, and root like hell for him if he comes back with next years class.  Keep it classy UM fans.

it could lead to Burke leaving early too.  If Morris stays there is no way Burke gets as much PT and no way he leaves after only one year.

If Burke leaves you can cue all the haters saying that JB runs off his best players with his demanding style.  Not saying that would be true or that I don't love JB's style but this could be a potential downside.

People freaking out about an article in which the Freep quotes Burke's dad as saying that Trey wants to play in the league someday and turning it into "Burke Already Drafted to NBA" are dumb. $0.02

The thing is - in my opinion, Trey's not anywhere near ready for the NBA. If he were to leave in a situation where it's in his best interest to leave, I'd be disappointed for Michigan basketball but feel happy for the kid. Hey, c'est la vie. But what hurts here is, if he leaves I don't see *anyone* benefitting.

Reason why he'll leave is cuz the draft is very weak for his position and he had one hell of a year. Why he should stay is to become more of a leader and have more control of the game. I think he should stay because he has a lot more to work on to improve his game and make him more more of an nba guard.

Trey Burke is considering the draft? Color me not-fucking-shocked.

If anyone was actually naive enough to believe he wouldn't even inquire about his stock, well, shame on you.  Common sense still says he stays, stop freaking out.

Why don't any of these young players think about what they are giving up?

Burke is the star of the team, he's on the front page of newspapers, he's on national TV getting interviews, and plays in front of 12,000 fans who scream his name. This is a part of his life he will never get back if he gives it up.

If there's a good chance you are going to warm the bench in the NBA for years and/or flame out, why would you give up your stardom? This might be the highlight of his basketball career, that which he has worked his whole life for. I just can't imagine giving that up when you are a middling 2nd-round draft prospect who will likely end up in the D-league for several years...

Colton, Burndridge, and Smot I was fine with. Colton wouldn't have gotten any time. Brundridge was going to make a minimal impact. We're deep enough with our bigs to absorb Smot leaving.

Burke leaving would make my head asplode. EWZDTCFYVGUBHKIJNLM DON'T LEAVE TREY. I AM WILLING TO PAY YOU TO STAY IN SEXUAL FAVORS.

Yeah, this is me before he leaves. If he actually does, I'll be on suicide watch like they NW basketball guy after they lost to Minnesota.

especially since the team havent accomplished nothing in the ncaa tourny. Would he really leave his team high and dry knowing its not another point guard on the team ?

Isnt going anywhere. How many 5-11 PG's do you see in the NBA with 1 year of college experience? It's not going to happen. Especially when arguably the best recruiting class is coming in.

He'll splash the water just like Denard did.  He won't go anywhere.

Besides, didn't he and Tim say they were coming back after they lost to Ohio?

Don't hate the player hate the game. I guarantee everyone of you posting on this thread would have skipped college if you were offered millions of dollars straight out of high school or would have have dropped out of college for a million dollar salary. I think college basketball would become much more popular if they required athletes to stay for three years. Back in the 80's one team might have three future NBA all stars and not win a NCAA championship. The quality of players is dwindling. Instead of being upset with Burke you should send the. President at UofM a letter. Remember the NCAA is nothing but a puppet for the university presidents. The NCAA presidents could have a football playoff tomorrow or even Make a deal with Stern in regards to NBA draft eligibility. I know everyone loves Mary Sue Coleman, but she and all of her colleagues are what's wrong with college athletics.
