You're stil bitching about some chippiness in a rivalry game from last October. This is why you're Michigan. You rely on everything but the play on the field/court to get you what you want, and that doesn't win championships. It'll let you have a neat little run to the NCAA Tournament in basketball, maybe award you a meaningless "BCS" bowl in football, but you'll never really win anything like that.

It would be somewhat disappointing, but expected, to see students of these two schools engaging in irrelevant, childish pissing contests about things over which they have no control.

Lord help us if any of you are graduates.

You do realize that the Scout site has an extra player listed for you right? That is obviously raising your ranking...

Not to mention for MSU they have Vanlentine as a 3*. That guy is averaging one assist shy of a triple double for the best team in the state BY FAR.

Heck I don't have any problem saying Michigan State is the measuring stick in basketball. They've had a top 10 all time coach running their program the last 15 years.  Those don't come around very often. They've had one and have cashed in big time.  Michigan hasn't had anyone close to as good until the last 5 seasons. Factor in the poor shape of the facilities v. many other elite programs and what the team did this year winning a share of the conference is a super accomplishment. Way ahead of schedule.

One thing that is interesting is Izzo's flirtation with the NBA and the basic idea that if Lebron had stayed in Cleveland, he would have been taken the job. If you recall, the waiting game was not about Izzo making a decision, but it was about seeing what Lebron's decision would be. That didn't seem like a guy that was all jacked up about being a lifer at State.

It is widely known he is sick of recruiting and that he has a certain level of frustration that despite the 6 final fours in 13 years, he still can't recruit on autopilot like the bellwether programs such as Duke and UNC.

As a Michigan fan, I'd love to see him retire or jump to the pros.  Correct or not, I am of the belief that he runs a very strong program that stays that strong only if he is running it.

That's always been the nature of the athletic programs at that school.
