Saturday NCAA Tourney Open Thread
Well, I know the NCAA Tournament has lost a bit of its luster now that our beloved Wolverines are no longer in the running, but there are still games to be played and brackets to be (further) ruined.
Today's slate:
1 SYR 75 - 9 KSU 59
2 OSU vs 7 Gonzaga - Just started
3 Marq vs 6 Murray St - 5:15pm
4 Wisc vs 5 Vandy - 6:10pm
4 Ind vs 12 VCU - 7:10pm
1 UK vs 8 ISU - 7:45pm
3 Baylor vs 8 Colorado - 8:40pm
4 Louisville vs 5 New Mex - 9:40pm
Anyone see any potential upsets today? I think the best shot at an upset would be New Mexico over Louisville. Plus, if you agree with the analysts, Wisconsin winning would be an "upset". Baylor could potentially lay an egg today too - they didn't look all that great on Thursday. I was really hoping KSU would give Syracuse more of a fight.
Yet you cared enough to click on the obviously titled thread AND comment?
"woe is me, Michigan lost a basketball game. Life just isn't worth living anymore"
Ohio vs Zaga... Both teams shooting really well. Aaron Craft is of course getting away with murder as per usual.
Yeah, I have been surprised at Gonzaga's apparent ability. This is the first of them I have seen all season and they smoked WVU...
Sullinger with 2 fouls in the 1st half? What sorcery is this???
I was thinking about this during our game yesterday - do you think there is an adjustment that teams from the B1G have to make when playing in the tourney with regard to physicality of play? It's pretty well known that the B1G is a physical and "rough" conference, so with teams/players in that mentality would there be a higher propensity for what we would all consider "ticky tack" fouls that would otherwise be allowed in conference play? And do players have to scale back the contact to match the consistency of refs from other leagues?
That was a long winded run on but hopefully you see what I'm getting at
How many times am I going to find myself rooting for the Buckeyes?? I should see a psychologist...
Go Zags!
Gah, typo. Thanks for the catch. I think Murray State is the toughest team to figure out. Solid record, lowly competition, are they actually good? I guess we'll find out
Watch out for Iowa State tonight. They have good size, good athletes and know what they are doing as far as sharing the ball. They slapped an admittedly shakey UCONN team around on Thursday.
Keep Kentucky on upset watch.
Yeah, so I'm thinking ohio provides a class in Rubik's Cubeness, maybe Urban can post that on a wall
Last night sucked, but...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
responded being behind so much in the first half,
"We had to lose our minds a few times"
What does that mean precisely Thad?
I don't know how many times I have to be tortured this weekend, Gonzaga is missing too many opportunities to beat osu
Seriously, exploration. Ridiculous. Wonder if his minor is Rubik's Cube Solving?
With wins today by OSU, Wisky and Indy the Big Ten is 8-1

Our conference is as good as advertised. Except for us.
