Way back in the day we had this lineman named Jake Long he was put on a training regimen of Pizza and video games by Mike Gittelson and he turned into the #1 pick in the draft. He had no gut. Please also see back in the day(maybe black and white video) of Jon Jansen, Steve Hutchinson, Steve Everitt. They performed without a gut as well.

Yes, good observations. However, sounds like Jake -- like Braylon -- was doing a lot of work on his own. Or at least beyond what was required. With the new regime, that amount of work and commitment is required for everyone.

Whether or not that's TF in the video, I wouldn't worry about him being skinny. He walked right by me in downtown A2 earlier this summer, and he's no string bean; he looked very solid. He was less than 3 ft away wearing a T and shorts so this isn't some guess.
Not sure it matters that much anyhow. Anthony Carter looked like a little stick out there as a pure freshman in 1979, and he took plenty of hits. He got up every time and never appeared to be fazed. Part of his talent was in avoiding the worst of the collisions, and TF needs to have that ability, too.

True, but we are already thin enough at QB, if Tate goes down then we go down. I love Denard but he is a project as a passer(yes he looked good throwing the ball in his highlight tape but those were HIGHLIGHTS, not game film) and after that is nothing but Death.

Tate will be fine. the new types of cameras actually take off 10 lbs. lame jokes aside (when will carrot top subscribe to this?)...I have faith in one aspect of tate's game that takes a lot of young qb's time to make habitual and that is throwing the ball away when he needs to.

I've been waiting all week for these videos to start. I'm not sure if I need to be concernec that I've been waiting all week, although I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I don't care either way.
Sweet lord Mike Martin looks like the Incredible Hulk.
On the one hand, it's totally awes that a chunk of our players are proud enough of their bodies to spend the majority of the time shirtless (I don't recall anyone really flaunting their Gittle-handles, except for Tim Jamison). On the other hand, I can't help but fear for the future, when we have 4 full classes that have had time in the Barwis-Hot Treatment. Are we going to have four score of men non-jiggling their entire summers without shirts? How can we learn to utilize the TE position if we are always re-enacting Hollister photo shoots? If there is one thing Zoolander has taught us, is it not that when men who all think their bodies are hot shit get together, it ends in gas station accidents and horrific third-degree "Walk Off" injuries?
However, if our newfound confidence leads us to be the first team to bring back the late-80's/early-90's Exposed Midriff Jerseys, that would be fantastic. That Eric Bienemy styled stuff was great.
And finally: Gott in Himmel, Mike Martin is starting to take the next step in Barwis's plan, the step where you start to look like a player from N64's NFL Blitz.
