Derrick Walton scored 47 points tonight against Detroit Crockett. Looks like the PG future is bright.

Burns ridge might be able to play the point spot also. However, remember this draft class will be one of the deepest ones in a while due to the threat of the lockout last season. Even if Burke was bigger I do not think he would go. It would e wiser to wait a year for better draft position. Plus he makes a lot of freshman plays which lead to turnovers or poor shots. Even today a couple times he was bailed out by teammates, ala stu hitting that jumpsuit off the rim after picking up the loose ball. He also holds the ball too much. That being said, his size might almost be a godsend to keep him aa for 3 to maybe 4 years.

D3 handles? You're like the antithesis of Fred Jackson. Stu may not be crossing people over and breaking ankles, but he's serviceable with the ball in his hands and doesn't turn the ball over a ton. I think he could be an effective PG for a mid major school. Luckily, that is not his role on our team.

Really? Burke was bailed out. Stu played terrible, hit a couple 3's (also missed a few). Burke has been the only thing keeping this team from a .500 team in conf. That is fact! He hits EVERY big shot, either keeping us in the game or holding the lead, he is the one guy I would honestly rely on. If you can tell me you would rather have someone else take a big shot for us, then you don't watch this team. The man is consistent and clutch, two things you should NEVER rely on your freshman PG to be.

Could have used some of those points in the early minutes against minny tonight. I think we had two field goals in the first 10 minutes. Scorers are welcome.

The idea of a team that looks like this makes me feel very weird inside:

PG-Tre Burke- 5 11"

SG- Tim Hardaway Jr.- 6 5"

SF- Glenn Robinson Jr.- 6 6"

PF- Mitch McGary-6 10"

C- Jordan Morgan-6 8"

PF/SF- Evan Smotrycz-6 9"

SG/SF- Nik Stauskas - 6 6"

Oh, okay....

Don't forget about Horford! He could be a beast next year at 6 10"! He gained soo much muscle from last year to this, I'm curious to see how he plays next year. This team is going to be VERY deep next year.... Kind of refreshing. I honeslty can't even remember the last really talented, well coached, deep team we had. Oh wait... Yup, just remembered. We won't talk about that though.

I'm drooling over the versatility we'll have next year. THJ can play two positions. GR3 can play 3. Stauskas can play 3. Mitch can play 2. I'm confident Vogrich can shoot better than he did this year. And hopefullly Brundidge progresses and gives us solid minutes off the bench. It's going to be awesome being 9 deep instead of 7 deep like we've been for most of JBs time here.

We could be 11 deep next year - the competition on the squad is going to be brutal

On top of the list above you have Brundrige, Vogrich, Bielfeldt and Horford.  Size, physicality, shooters - we have it all

From the looks of it... he's looking like the heavy Favorite to Win Mr. Basketball Next year... This is a flat out stud... If Trey Burke is still here when Derrick arrives on Campus he could have a role like Keith Appling had his freshman year at MSU...
