Wings v. Canucks Open Thread

Submitted by justingoblue on

Puck drops at 7:30ET. At stake is the home streak (going for 24) and sitting alone at the top of the NHL/Western Conference. Two points for the Canucks tonight and they tie us up. Datsyuk is still out tonight, so we need production from elsewhere.

I have some Fat Tire on deck, and that seems to coincide with good performances by the Wings.

For a session beer, I like it better than anything else available year round. It's not a Double Bastard, Hopslam or DFH 90, but if you're going to buy a twelve pack, I like it as well as anything.

Also, NHL network is still saying they're showing NHL On The Fly...WTF?

On Sunday, February 19, 2012 I received a cease and desist email from an NHL attorney. I have been ordered to stop the unauthorized streaming of NHL copyrighted works. With the recent arrest of a Comstock Park, MI man for copyright infringement, I had to really step back and recognize the risks associated with continuing this site. I am expecting my first child in August, and I cannot go to jail over something like this site. I have made the unfortunate and difficult decision to stop streaming any and all NHL games. I have no plans of moving the site to a new domain or to continue streaming elsewhere. I hope you enjoyed the streams this season, and I am sorry that I can not continue providing this service to you. You can thank the NHL for ruining the party.

Can't start a new thread but theres heavy talk about Jack Johnson being traded to Columbus of all places.  TSN's Bob McKenzie saying deal is potentially JJ and a 1st rounder for Jeff Carter.  Last place id want Jack to go but maybe its the opportunity he needs as a #1 Dman.

Is it just me or is Franzen looking slow and sluggish out there tonight? He didn't leave the zone in time on the 2nd PP and then a weak bump from a Canuck knocks him off the puck.

Wings outshot 17-5, and went 0-3 on the PP. Unfortunately for the Canucks, this is hockey and 1-0 is all that matters so far. Still, though, let's hope for some adjustments.

Quincey looks pretty good in his first game with the Wings. The best part is that he will only get better with time and as his comfort level increases.

Reaffirms my belief that the Wings can't stand pat at the deadline. Granted, Datyuk is out, but a right handed point shot would be nice. Hate to say this, but I kinda miss Mikael Samuelsson.
