Phenomenal David Molk article - ESPN WN ($)
ESPN's Wolverine Nation has continued its "Exit Interview" series with a phenomenal interview with David Molk. The entire interview is great - if you're an ESPN Insider, check it out.
As you might expect, Molk came strong with it when describing his frustration with seeing how some veteran players handled the first coaching transition:
"That pissed me off. It kills me. That's why when this last coaching transition happened, right after the announcement that Rich was being fired, I stood up and said, 'No one is f---ing leaving. You're staying here. No one is transferring. No one is moving. No one is going anywhere. You're staying on this team. This is f---ing Michigan. It doesn't matter who the coach is. We're Michigan. You're staying.'"
Between this year's football and basketball teams, I don't think anyone could imagine a stronger group of senior leaders. Winning is always fun, but it carries extra meaning when you consider the journey our football and basketball seniors have gone through to bring these programs to their current levels. Hail.

We will look back on the Class of '12 as the class that returned Michigan to its Golden Age. Molk, Martin, VB, Novak, Stu, Koger, and everyone else should get their own page in Michigan's storied history. I, for one, will never forget, and I hope everyone else remembers, decades down the road, what these young men did for us, the University, and each other.

David Molk and Darius Morris will get together to hang out. The resulting tape of that conversation will kill George Carlin's Zombie.

Interesting quote about Lloyd's departure:
"WN: When you look back, why do you think that was?
DM: "I don't know. It could be contributed to the end of the Lloyd (Carr) era and how all that transpired. Kind of going through it and he comes in and said, 'If you want to go, you can go.' That kind of kills a team. It splits it. That means even the guys who stay, it is kind of a slap in the face to the coaches coming in saying, 'You know, your team might not be here.' That's losing a lot of guys. We definitely lost a lot of guys. Every guy that could have gone to the NFL went. Guys that didn't want to be there transferred."

Certainly back up John Bacon.

He also puts it on the players that left. He goes into good detail about what he was saying to the kids whenever Rich was fired and Brady was brought in. He doesn't mention it in the quote above about Lloyd - but based on his reaction to what happened in Jan 2011 - he would most certainly blame the leaders / captains of the 2008 team as well.

What kind of a chode-slap would downvote this thread topic?
I love Molk more every time I hear him speak. That goes for quite a few players, actually.
