Michigan vs. Ohio State Basketball Open Thread

I really wanted to put "vs. Akron State" or something, but thought it'd start another thread. Go Blue - this one is for the Big Ten Title race.

really would have liked that 7 point lead into the second half.  I'll take the 5 though.  I feel we gotta play just slightly better the next half to pull it off, but we can definitely do it!

but missed lay ups and easy jump shots have held us down to 25. Need to fix those mistakes at halftime. It really didn't look like Ohio even tried in the 1st half which makes me wonder what they'll dish out in the 2nd. Need to keep playing solid defense and sink those gimmie shots and we'll win this! GO BLUE!!!

Just skimming through the comments, seems like a lot of dislike for Bilas.  Well, he's been right on just about everything.  Yes, some is opinion based and he isn't perfect, but the guy knows what he's talking about.

Not sure why Ohio isn't going through Sullinger (like Bilas states).  Michigan is playing some good defense so that's part of it.  Michigan has given up still too many Off. rebounds.  They aren't getting the pts. off of them a la the last meeting, but a half to play and giving chances to Ohio is not a recipe for a W.  Howeva, overall the rebounding has been pretty good, I will give credit.  The defense and rebounding are in correlation so that makes sense.

Trey wants this game bad, if you're on the moon and haven't noticed!  I personally would like to see a bit more offense-created shots than they've been getting but I do like the idea of grinding out the clock (which in turn creates improvised shots at end of shot clock).

Anyway, this is a damn interesting game, almost a weird one.  Wasn't expecting this out of Ohio; not that they're playing "poorly" but they look out of sync.  This again is a testament to the opposition, so Michigan deserves props for the gameplan thus far.  An interesting 2nd half is on the way and I'm pumped for a W! Go Blue.

I agree re: Bilas but the issue I have is how he chooses to express his thoughts.  "Call a TO and tell them if Sullinger doesn't touch the ball they should have their scholarships revoked" is a bit dramatic.  Although maybe Saban was feeding him his lines.
