Dymonte Thomas Update (Good)
I won't post a link, but I just talked with Dymonte Thomas about a week or so after Eleven Warriors posted a short interview with him in which the consensus seemed to be that Urb's golden touch will bring Dymonte home to the Buckeyes. In short, it's nothing to worry about. He said he'd visit Columbus only to see Brionte and his brother, who is also a student at Ohio. When I asked him about Meyer/Dunn and their potential influences, his message was simple: They have no impact on me
I only posted this just in case some people caught the 11w interview and were a little concerned.

I like Roll Damn Tide so much.

how much are we talking?

I'm amused at (and a bit frightened of) this new mgoblog world, where Alabama and Saban represent truth and right.

Do you like his other username too?

No one likes DameFan2 :(

I don't get into (or understand) alot of things people say on boards/forums/blogs. I will, however, gladly stop posting if my presence creates some kind of drama for the board.

I think you've been a great addition. Keep posting.

Everything. Update on a recruit? "OMG, like, I'm totes not following recruiting anymore. Aren't I so cool?" Update on a player? "OMG, like, you totes didn't spell his uncle's cousin's brother's wife's best friend's daughter's aunt's name right" News about an opponent? "OMG, like, this is totes a Michigan blog not a Team X blog."
Seriously, if Mean Girls was a blog, this would be that blog. I can't believe I actually referred to Mean Girls on MGoBlog....

that's so fetch.

stop trying to make fetch happen, Gretchen! It's not going to happen.

I think there is a 90% chance that mgoblog is going to obsess over recruiting...
February 13th, 2012 at 9:55 PM ^
You have been a great addition, stay please!

You condemn oversigning and generally say nice things about Michigan players and recruits. If anyone has a problem with you they also hate puppies, Santa Claus, and the Easter bunny.
February 13th, 2012 at 6:32 PM ^
I welcome it. For every minute Meyer wastes calling/visiting Dymonte, it's a minute he's not spending with other, and more importantly, undecided recruits.
February 13th, 2012 at 6:44 PM ^
I might be in the minority but i do not feel it is unethical for a coach to keep contacting committed recruits unless the recruit tells them to back off. All is fair in recruiting unless you oversign because i feel that can really hurt the hs kids
February 13th, 2012 at 7:20 PM ^
I don't think it's unethical even if the recruit tells him to back off multiple times. It's just annoying and a waste of time. My problem is with him blatantly lying in saying it's not how he operates when the whole recruiting world knows it is. If you're going to stay on the kids, fine. At least save your lies for when you need them. He's pathological.

really needs an early signing period.... say, the end of summer and before high school football kicks off.
February 13th, 2012 at 7:13 PM ^
That would make the "black hole" of sports following the bowl season even more unbearable
February 13th, 2012 at 7:32 PM ^
Many, if not most, of the top recruits would still wait until February.
....but it would give those that wanted a chance to end their recruitment so they can focus on their high school season and get other coaches out of their ear.

Its SO WEIRD that a team would hate a rival coach... I mean, as if... like people are allowed or even able to change their opinon.
February 14th, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
Nothing wrong with changing opinions, but people are talking about Urban like he's among the slimiest in the biz. If that's the case (and it certainly may be), then why the hell were people hyping him for the Michigan job? So, it guess it is ALL CAPS WEIRD that folks could go from "we're doomed if we don't hire him" to "unethical, Urban Liar is all that is wrong with football".
February 14th, 2012 at 2:02 PM ^
some of the same folks who were saying Hoke was the worst case scenario and would be the death knell of UM.
February 14th, 2012 at 1:51 AM ^
I had Bill Yoast, Al Pacino, and Vince Lombardi as my top 3.
February 13th, 2012 at 9:39 PM ^
He will be a Buckeye. Watch they say do, not what they say. He visits for ANY reason to OSU and it's on!
February 14th, 2012 at 1:28 AM ^
Meyer contacting recruits after they've committed to another school in and of itself isn't so bad. It's when the recruit, says stop calling and he keeps doing it, then it almost gets into that creepy stalkerish area. And personally I like the input of RollDamnTide on our board, that being said if he would kindly stay off the board a couple of days after Bama-UM game, so we can mope it would be greatly appreciated. I love Michigan, but we're all pretty much in agreement we'll play them tough, but Bama is at a different level talent wise right now.
February 14th, 2012 at 8:22 AM ^
Bama will certainly be favored, but I'm not conceding anything and I guarantee the players and coaches aren't.
It's the first game of the year for both teams..... anything can happen.
