Five hours to go and I'm already more excited for a basketball game than I have been in a while. Almost feels like a fall Saturday morning.

Question for the OP -

Do you think Coach B is as bothered by THJ's quick-jacking three's as the fan base is?  I coached basketball for about 15 years and I can tell you that THE most effective way to get a shooter's attention when he falls in love with his shot is to sit him down immediately after taking one you don't like.  You don't have to do that too many times before he gets the message that it's not ok to fire up a contested 3 with 25 seconds left on the shot clock.

The reason I ask is I don't remember seeing Timmy get seated at all this year when this happens.  Looks of distain from Beilein I've seen plenty of but pulling Tim I dont think has happened.  Which leads me to believe he isnt as bothered by it as the fans seem to be. Afterall, he made the Stu/Evan switch so he doesnt mind sitting people who arent doing as he wants on the court.

Just wondering........

I have wondered this recently myself.  I posted the other day that THJ is almost more detrimental to the team than he is helpful "AT TIMES" on the floor for the team.  This is of course pure opinion, and don't know that I truly think that (but it feels that way sometimes).  But to your point, I think Coach Beilein has plenty the cojones to pull a player that he feels is impacting his team negatively, even if he is a former NBA stars offspring.  Like you say, this has not happened though.  I, too, get the feeling Beilein doesn't view some of THJ's shots as negatively as others and most definitely I do.  You raise a good point though, makes one wonder.

This depends 100% on the player and his mentality/personality.  A good coach knows that you can't handle every player the same way.  For some guys, a quick hooks sends the message and the problem is solved.  For others, this may just cause more frustration.  Maybe this is part of it with THJ, maybe it isn't.  Just saying it's probabaly more complicated than "if Beilein didn't like it, we'd see him pull THJ."

Holy shit that was beautiful. Best hype video I've seen since the Rilo Kiley videos. Thank you.

P.S. I don't have much money, but would gladly pay $50 for someone to make another "Better Son/Daughter" with old clips juxtaposed with those from last season.

I am so nervous for this game. First time in awhile we actually have a chance at a Big Ten Title. Burke is going to have to play the game of his life and THJ is going to have to get out of his funk...To the earlier poster I know I am frustrated everytime THJ shoots a 3. He has so much athleticism that he could easily drive to the basket for the easy 2 against most defenders in the big ten. Also, if he drove more it would open up more opportunities for open 3's for Novack, Stu, Smotyz,etc...Anyways, GOOOOOOOOO BLUE!

A huge game, but I'm more interested to see how the club handles the road environment versus an actual win or loss.  Sure, it would be great to sweep MSU for a second year, but a close loss would give me confidence that this team will be competitive going forward and into the tournament.  Right now, the best road win was a close one against Purdue, but if UM can hang with MSU until the inevitable B1G officiating pushes the game to the home team (and we all know that will happen), I'd be happy.

Days since Sparty beat Michigan in basketball: 700 and counting.

See, it's safe for me to post this, because even if we lose, it reverses to like 20 days.

Unfortunately I live about ten miles from E.L so I will have to endure all the sparties at the bar. But the sound of there crying when they lose will make it all worth while. GO BLUE!!

As much as I want UM to win this, I think Izzo and his cowpokes have really painted themselves into a corner--this is the very definition of a "must win" game for Sparty.  Four losses in a row to Michigan with two at home?  Its almost unthinkable, and I think Izzo will have his team and the crowd at fever pitch.  I am afraid MooU wins just because a loss would become an event of apocalyptic proportions in East Lansing.  "Oh, the couches!"
