Jordan Diamond not to Michigan per Ondre Pipkins
Per Ondre Pipkins, who I just spoke with, and his Twitter, Jordan Diamond is "100% not coming to Michigan".
EDIT: "his twitter" being Pipkins, not Diamond, just to be clear.
EDIT2: I am just going on what Ondre told me. I have no first hand sources with Diamond so I am only reporting what Ondre has said.

Color me not shocked.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:48 PM ^
I literally don't give a crap whether he goes to Michigan. Flaky kid likes the spotlight too much...
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:09 PM ^
Im sure Jordan's gonna be crushed that you don't care where he goes.
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:38 PM ^
talking about saving spots for big time recruits. We didn't get any, and Ohio got plenty.
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:41 PM ^
why i am not allowed to express my thought?
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Our class is ranked between #4-7, depending on the service.... how did we not get any big names???
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:40 PM ^
i was talking about the signing day period. I remember during the season, people were talking about how Michigan would save spots for big time recruits like Diggs, Diamonds or some surprise. but last time i checked we got Henry and Norfleet to close out.
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:29 PM ^
We suck. Only got 2 5 stars, i thought we would get at least 20 of them 5 stars. Man sucks, no big time recruits.
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
when you can get 5 why settle for 2? go be a spartans fan. I bet they have a lower standard.
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:59 PM ^
but I detected a pretty hefty dose of sarcasm in his post that I think you missed.
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:00 PM ^
Yes. Has a team ever gotten 20 5Star players? what happened to the sarcasm meter?
February 3rd, 2012 at 8:34 PM ^
At first I thought you were arguing that instead of putting all of our scholarship eggs into the Diamond/Reeves/Kozan/Wright/etc. basket we should have filled the spots with some project 3 stars instead (because it's better than nothing).... which OK I'll hear that argument.
Then you lost me when you had expectations that we should have got five 5 stars instead of two. (1) That's a pretty large thing to expect to happen. (2) Hoke & co. went after those 5 star recruits hard and just missed out. What more do you want from the coaching staff?
February 3rd, 2012 at 9:43 PM ^
im just saying that why settle for less when you could had more. expectation is high at Michigan, atleast i have a high expectation for them. (maybe that's just the difference between the people who go/went to Michigan and the general fans)
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:45 PM ^
your comment is OVERRATED
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:14 PM ^
Ahh come on, the kid has put off signing until today because that's the way his school does it. It gets more exposure for other kids on his team throughout the season.
February 3rd, 2012 at 10:36 PM ^
Blah, blah, blah, blah...
I've been reading that all year with Diamond. Whatever.
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:19 PM ^
And I'll take him!!!
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
So in other words you know him personally?
February 3rd, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
I hope he pulls a BWC and is lying
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
i think diamond hasn't been ours since the summer - don't want him if he's not true blue, we have a great class w/o him.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:33 PM ^
No, that doesn't sound like sour grapes at all...
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:46 PM ^
There was a time last summer where it seems like he was on the verge of commiting. Then something happened and made him start looking a lot more at other schools and there was at least one unofficial visit that was canceled. It also appeared the coaching staff backed off him for several months and really went after some West Coast linemen. Whatever seed of doubt he had last summer made me skeptical that he would ever commit to us.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:51 PM ^
Playing time is a really big deal for him. It was reported that his mom was very concerned with our OL haul. This was around the same time when we heard about our lead slipping.
It makes sense to be concerned with guys like Kalis and Magnuson in this class. I just wish that he would take the competition as a challenge and welcome it.
February 4th, 2012 at 12:23 AM ^
I remember Diamond saying that we welcomed the competition. I didn't believe it when he said it, but I don't blame him for saying it. All these last minute recruits we "lost" out on do not really bother me. Sure it would have been great had they chose UM, but usually the ones that wait until the end are the "me first" types, not saying that is wrong, but they are the ones that are most likely to transfer, complain, give up when they can no longer control their situation. I hope we save the scholarships for some 5th year seniors and shore up our class early again with solid recruits that represent the high standards of UM.
February 4th, 2012 at 9:34 AM ^
from some school in PA who lived with a guardian and was ALL the rage and everyone was drooling to get this kid and he played his recruitment back and forth and left the spotlight on way too long...
and in the end thanks to cars, tats, A-hole behavior, memorablilia salesgate, and any other number of things was then relegated to the suplemental draft and above all...was picked up by the Raiders of all teams where he will simply collect a paycheck...which is likely much less than he received from that school down south that you can smell from Toledo...so when we miss out on 'must have kids' where we already picked up some great talent and MICHIGAN MEN....I really don't sweat it anymore...best to dance with the devil you do know...than one you don't
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:58 PM ^
hoke should just let him commit last year.
February 3rd, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
NOOOO!!!!!! Oh well....with the way things have been going lately, I didn't expect this to happen. On to the Kozan Watch!
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:10 PM ^
what a miserable fan base. A top 5 recruiting class and you're upset with "the way things have been going lately."
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:49 PM ^
You're calling the fan base miserable based on one dumbass post made by someone who might or might not be a Michigan fan?
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:30 PM ^
or he could be talking about the way diamonds recruiting has been going lately, or our bad luck closing out the season recruiting, and not about all the good shit that happened to U of M football this year
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:47 PM ^
I think Coach Hoke and the staff wanted/planned to sign 6 offensive linemen. On signing day he was still talking about adding two very large pieces to this class. If we were to miss on Garnett, Buller, Stacey and Kozan I think a lot of folks in Schembechler Hall would be disappointed about the end of the 2012 recruiting season.
That isn't to say the class is bad or a failure or even not awesome (as I said in a lower post, if Kalis/Magnuson are as good as advertised the class should be just as rad as its reputation), but just isn't quite what it coulda/shoulda/mighta been.
February 3rd, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
Water is wet.
February 3rd, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
Good luck to you Jordan. Hello Kozan?
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:38 PM ^
Yeah, lets go after Kozan. Just what we need 5 guards no centers tackles or tight ends we will just use Kalis he can do it all.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:00 PM ^
Untill pen hits paper. Look at Kozan fergodsakes.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:56 PM ^
You're better off waiting until the fax is sent successfully (or at all, for that matter). Look at Madaris.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:00 PM ^
Wouldn't be suprised if Pipkins was say that just to make up for previously saying Diamond was committed, i.e. Diamond is coming, but Pipkins is helping build suspense/suprise.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:05 PM ^
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:06 PM ^
The Kay Jewelers tweet was in reference to Garnett. Sam Webb said that Garnett told Magnuson and PeeWee he was coming, hence all the tweets about being lied too.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:10 PM ^
Nope. The kay tweet was in fact for Diamond. The fact that Garnett said during his visit that he would commit was an entirely different situation. That tweet was 100% referring to Diamond.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:12 PM ^
Well then I guess Sam Webb is lying.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:13 PM ^
They are separate situations. Both happened. Garnett said what he said and the Kay Jewelers tweet was about Diamond.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:15 PM ^
shoulda went to jared
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:20 PM ^
Can't disagree with you there.
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:42 PM ^
Is thinking Tiffany.
February 3rd, 2012 at 6:52 PM ^
February 3rd, 2012 at 7:02 PM ^
rookie mistake.
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:52 PM ^
February 3rd, 2012 at 5:09 PM ^
Pipkins previously said that Garnett was committed, not Diamond. And after Garnett committed to Stanford, Pipkins tweeted out a couple of vague tweets about feeling betrayed/lied to..
EDIT: Beaten to the punch.
