Jordan Diamond not to Michigan per Ondre Pipkins

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on

Per Ondre Pipkins, who I just spoke with, and his Twitter, Jordan Diamond is "100% not coming to Michigan".

EDIT: "his twitter" being Pipkins, not Diamond, just to be clear.

EDIT2: I am just going on what Ondre told me. I have no first hand sources with Diamond so I am only reporting what Ondre has said.

Devilishly clever. Everyone thought he was going to Michigan, then everyone thought he was 50/50 to Michigan. The only way to "Shock the World" is to get everyone thinking that he is not going to Michigan. Pipkins with the reset.

It's a nice class. However, when a team goes 11-2 with a BCS win it would be nice if that paid off. So far it hasn't. That is what is disappointing about it all. Of course it may help with the next recruiting class, we'll see.

Following recruiting is kinda like watching the Jersey Shore. It's all drama and you always leave wondering why you bothered to follow it at all. But, in the moment it's hard to not pay attention. But, I'm getting a little of sick of following ever rumor and wondering are they coming? Are they not coming? At this point I'd almost rather close the doors & say no thanks to rest, you had your chance.

Odds are as follows

Auburn 3/1
Arkansas 5/1
Michigan 8/1
Wisconsin 12/1

Something tells me he is going to Auburn or Wisconsin

I'm still hoping though

...if he comes here great, if he doesn't come here our class is still great. Same with Kozan. I'm sure both of these guys are welcome with open arms by the team, but if they don't come, they know that the 2012 class is one hell of a class and 2013 will be just as good. Don't worry so much about recruiting guys. We have great coaches that know how to develope players and win.

Call this trolling, but I think it must be said. This is getting a bit ridiculous. Pipkins, someone who has has actually spoken to Diamond, is saying he isn't coming here. Now we have people still speculating that it's a guarantee we're getting DIamond. Really people?

Another rare post from a ong-time avid MGo stalker. While Diamond would be a good addition to the team talent-wise, I am much less excited about him, or Garnett (similar note re talent), person-wise and team-wise. It is clear to me that Garnett knew all along that he would be going to Stanford, and that he just strung out and lead on the Michigan fan base and, worse, fellow recruits for his personal enjoyment and aggrandizement. I have no idea who Diamond has meant to commit to all along and now. Perhaps it was/is Michigan. But it is similarly clear to me that he has been and remains most interested in his own personal aggrandizement, in particular his 'documentary' (if anyone should be interested) and his own look-only-at-me-post-signing-date announcement (going along with his similarly self-aggandizing coach), rather than 'The Team! The Team!' Give me Pipkins multiplied over and over again, instead, please.
