MGoJordan Diamond update

Submitted by Brian on

An update to my previous assertion that Jordan Diamond was likely to pick Michigan: because this is 2012, that has changed to total confusion and uncertainty. Reportedly Auburn is back in the picture and Diamond is utterly undecided between them, M, and Arkansas, with playing time a huge consideration.

I consider the announcement tomorrow a total tossup. Is this the opposite of insider information? Kind of. Sorry.

Um, he's going to Michigan. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Diamond point at Brady Hoke at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

I know it's (probably) not your fault, but I posted this (not exact quote but a joke based on the movie quote) during the coaching search and then had it as my signature for a while after that. That's probably why people said they've seen it before? I'm not sure. That was a year ago.

Again, I doubt you did it on purpose. I'm just jealous because no one really laughed at my rendition and yours is met with rave reviews. I still love you.

Edit: I tried to actually find the place where I said it, and I came across an earlier post by someone else who did it better than me. Right below that post someone had written, "hey! I used this joke a few weeks ago on the board! still funny though"

I guess it goes to show that history does repeat itself. I thought it was a pretty funny coincidence.

haha oh boy, well I thought it was truly original when I posted it...had never seen it on the board before, but that's probably because I'm fairly new.

I'm glad we can all agree that Ferris Bueller is a great movie. I offer this advice to Diamond:

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We have a rough idea of Jordan Diamond's physical location. And it is not "wandering the countryside in search of enlightenment" like certain recruits...

just curious, when OL prospects talk about early playing time are they referring to starting their freshmen year? I always thought it was pretty standard to RS to beef up then get ur shot at starting

Why ?   Because Auburn already landed five and Diamond would be six. And figure four of those are inside OL.    Same thing if we were to land Diamond... it would surely kick one of our lineman inside.   Read between the lines, why Kozan just happens to not sign his Iowa LOI, and has Auburn or Michigan to decide, as Diamond does. He is waiting on Diamond.

Would we take both?  Yep. Will it happen? No.

If Diamond to Michigan, then Kozan to Iowa.

If Diamond anywhere else, then Kozan to Michigan.

No we are getting neither of them. Take off your maize colored glasses. This isn't the SEC; we don't have anything for the recruits other than a chance for glory and to teach them how to be great individuals in life. As a 17/18 year old, sometimes the chance to have a great teacher in life, such as this coaching staff, is not as appealing as playing in warm weather, having fans adore you, and maybe getting some extra things because you're a player. That being said, I understand what they would be thinking if they both picked Auburn or Kozan picked Auburn and Diamond picked Arkansas. Even Kozan going to Iowa after all wouldn't surprise me because he apparently has a great relationship with their (soon to retire, probably) offensive line coach.

So 33% shot? Maybe we can win one of those sometime. Diamond would really be the jewel of our recruiting class if we got him.

we are exactly where we started the Diamond recruiting saga a year ago?  Brilliant.

Well, at least one way or another it will be over tomorrow...unless he pulls a Kozan.
