According to tremendous, we may be getting a 2013 commit tomorrow. They do stress the word "Might" but it's exciting none the less. Keep up the good work, Tremendous!

To throw a bit of speculation out there, I think it could be Laquon Treadwell, who seemed on the verge of committing a couple months back.

Laquon would be a very nice addition , Logan Tulley-Tillman would be nice as well.  Dude is a beast!!

I am getting excited for the 2013 class to start taking form especially with Morris recruiting for like a year already.

Eh, he said that right after his Bama visit. It's possible that he cooled down, realized we were well ahead, and decided to get it over with. On the other hand, he did say he wanted to give every school a shot, and that attitude is unlikely to change on a whim, so who knows. My money is on Treadwell, he's been on the verge of commiting for a while now.

It's not unheard of this early on for the sites to be way inaccurate.

That said, no offence to tremendous or Thompson but with written offers still months from being sent out, it wouldn't be out of the question for Thompson to not have a committable offer (despite what he believes; it wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened in recruiting...).

Not saying it's the case one way or another, but we'll find out tomorrow one way or another. FWIW, this has already hit the Scout boards so I'm sure the mods there will investigate.

Now, there are a lot of reasons for that 4.8 to not be representative of his true speed, but lets remember that combine-timed 40s, especially the big ones, are usually laser timed making them much slower than most of the hand time 40s being reported.

Donovan Warran ran 4.7 at the NFL combine, and he was a good corner here.  It's possible that, even if Thompson is a legit 4.8 right now, he's in the 4.6-4.7 range by the time he's seeing the field.  Sure, we all want corners who can fly, but there is a lot than can make up for pure speed for a cornerback.

Also, try and refrain from comparing 40 times too much.  People love to talk about a kid who is a 4.4 or whatever, but there's a reason our Hello: posts have a FAKE 40 section - most of them are.  There are only a handful of guys who actually run a 4.4 at the NFL combine, and those are 21-23 year old players with years of college S&C training who are the tops at their positions in the country.  So when a HS kid reports a 4.4 or below, take it with a huge grain of salt.
