Per the Twitter, Sam Webb says that it looks like he chose Iowa. Conflicting experts?

Side note, is there something about our recruiting pitch that is making it more difficult to close these late deciding kids?

How is this flamebait?

Further down in the thread someone made the comment that Brady Hoke is not building a reputation as a closer. That's not marked "flamebait." I love this blog, but sometimes it's not the most welcoming place.

I know there's a lot that goes into the commitment process, and chances are if we've been after these recruits for a long time and they still haven't committed to us, well then there's probably something holding them up. Nevertheless, coaches overcome those hurdles all the time. I simply tried to stoke conversation about what could be going on. I very much appreciate the class that we've got coming, but ideally, I would like to see additions made to it.

  Strike three!

Alright.  We used to like ... get recruits, right?  What the hell is happening?  I must have gotten spoiled by those frequent 'twin hello' posts we used to get.

It's the middle-schoolers (in mentality if not in age) who are now infesting this site. I suppose it's an unavoidable consequence of MGoBlog's popularity, but some days the commenting—and the juvenile, gratuitous negging—doesn't seem far off from MLive. If Brian and the mods don't take advantage of the voting details feature and start getting control of things, MGoBlog will become the equivalent of a middle-school cafeteria.

Hmm well Brady Hoke not exactly making a reputation for himself as a great closer.  Oh well, still one hell of class.

As early as this staff did, its easy for fans to get spoiled. Look what these coaches did with kids they didn't recruit.

Everybody put the revolver down. The world its not coming too an end. Stay positive furgodsakes...we have a great class coming in...seemingly great kids and we will get a couple more quality kids!

Garnett was initially a long shot, as was Reeves, as was Kozan. Shouldn't be a surprise. Disappointing yes, but there is still one hell of a class coming to AA in 2012.

there is no way we close out this class with our current OL group.  we have no depth, especially if lewan leaves after this coming year.  hoke and co will almost certainly flip someone on sigining day a la roy roundtree, even if they have to reach a bit for a 3* type with some upside.

In like a lion, out like a lamb. Ohio State is out recruiting us and will not even miss a beat with the sanctions. Looks like OSU is positioning themselves well to have another 8 year run.
