Top Ranked Lineman Arik Armstead chooses Oregon
over Notre Dame .... Armstead held a Michigan offer, but we never made it to his final 7. Kid is a stud .. glad Notre Dame didn't get him.

Just put his choice in the title. No need to pander for more views.

I thought our MgoPoints were tied to how many page views our threads got? I've been working on my mgoboard search engine optimization for nothing!

Nike thing is really helping Oregon. smh

...right, Chip Kelly?
January 29th, 2012 at 6:35 PM ^
Your headline belongs at MLive.
What should I title my threads? Please make your thread titles as informative as possible: "Justin Feagin" is bad. "Justin Feagin leaving the team?" is good.

EDIT: Hey, somebody actually listened and changed the thread title!!!
January 29th, 2012 at 6:37 PM ^
Downvoted for obnoxious thread title. Also, this is OT.
Edit: thank you for editing.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:36 PM ^
Fucking lame. The fact you even thought this would go over well leads me to believe that you will not understand why this is stupid.
Edit: I stand corrected. Good for you OP

Interesting comment RE: Chip Kelly/Oregon from Armstead: "He was honest with me. They never talked bad about any other program. They recruited me without recruiting me"
Considering Notre Dame was the other finalist, you could make some assumptions based on that statement.

Something tells me that Brian Kelly does not do a good job keeping his emotions out of...well...anything.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:53 PM ^
"You are stupid if you DO NOT select Notre Dame!".
January 29th, 2012 at 6:58 PM ^
I picture Brian Kelly at his own birthday party impatiently sitting there in front of his cake while everyone is singing happy birthday to him. About half way through he screams, "Will you hurry the fuck up already!", blows out his candles and flips the table over before storming off.

ND Doctors wouldn't clear his brother, otherwise it would have been a 2 package deal.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:36 PM ^
Im curious as to what the original title was.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:39 PM ^
It didn't have Oregon in the title, it just said something to the effect of "Top ranked lineman Arik Armstead chooses..."

9 downvotes? Harsh. People must be in a bad mood after the game.
January 29th, 2012 at 6:49 PM ^
Teaser headlines belong as far from MGoBlog as humanly possible.

I'm guessing it also has to do with the fact that this is OT and we already have a "Commitment Sunday" thread that has been all encompassing so far at least for one of the other big commits (Devin Fuller).

I wonder how Kelly did this despite the NFL rumblings. I would've thought this would make kids think twice about coaching stability.

insist on playing DL I don't care where he goes. If he decides to play OT, well that's another story.

Seconded.

I've been reading this blog since the 2006 season and I will never understand why people get so infuriated by thread titles, what is on topic or off topic, and other little stuff. Some people here are wound incredibly tight.

If there is a bigger sham in college football than the Oregon Ducks, I'd like to see it. Oregon was terrible for decades before being subsidized by Nike. I realize it's not against the rules, but it damn well should be.

Anything to keep USC from hoarding all the west coast talent
January 29th, 2012 at 8:19 PM ^
They play arguably the most entertaining brand of football in the country, their coach exhibits a Paul Johnson level of "not giving a shit", and they've got one of the loudest stadiums in the country. I don't see how any of this is bad for college football.

Is the blog more or less informative when the OP puts the name of the school the kid is committing to in the thread title?
January 29th, 2012 at 8:30 PM ^
I dare anyone to go over to the Rival's board or ESPN's board for a week and then come back and tell me what you think about stupid threads. TomVH should start every day by posting in all caps that Stefon Diggs isn't coming to Michigan. Some how some way Rival's board manges to gather even more stupidity to one site. You may not like the bitching but it is a necessary evil.

There was an article a while back that I read that talked about Phill Knight threatened to cut off a donation or something if a group of professors took part in an anti-sweat shop symposium of sorts.
January 29th, 2012 at 8:22 PM ^
Maybe this is why Kelly decided to stay.

that will continue the great tradition of underperformance of the last 20 years. Here's hoping Hoke & Co. get more out of top 10 classes than has been the norm in Ann Arbor for the last decade or so.

Kid didnt look good in the army game, we'll see if they can get him to play offense
