NHL36 Featuring Nicklas Lidstrom/Red Wings v. Montreal Open Thread

Submitted by justingoblue on

Lidstrom out with the flu tonight, though he's being profiled from now until the puck drops (7:30ET) on NBC Sports/Versus.

About to crack open some Fat Tire, sit down and enjoy the show/game.

Are you in Colorado?

It's been nice having Wings games on NBC Sports and the Michigan game on ESPN this week.  If only they would put BTN on the basic package.

I can also get it at home in Illinois. Love me some Fat Tire, it's my go-to session beer 3/4 seasons. I'm actually drinking it out of a can right now, which I thought was really cool when it first came around.

I do love Hopslam, but I can't drink more than a couple in a night. That and it's twenty dollars a six pack and I'm still on a student budget. Fat Tire is perfect for drinking-drinking, because it's much better than Budweiser or something, but it's still a pretty light ale, and available year round.

Probably gonna get the banhammer for this, but all I ever drink in the summer is Leinenkugal's Summer Shandy. I get a craving maybe five times all summer for an Oberon, but other than that, those are the two beers I rely on throughout the year.

I was five the last time the Red Wings played a season without Nick Lidstrom.  When he retires, It's going to be awfully weird when they take the ice for the first game of the season and there's no number 5.

If anyone is interested, Darren McCarty is hosting an Official Red Wings viewing party at Good Time Charley's tonight. They're giving away prizes and such, should be a good time.

I actually subscribed to NBC Sports so I can catch whatever wings games they air from now until the end of the season. Got sick of not being able to catch Wings games here in Cleveland.

Go Wings!

"Kindl has been a healthy scratch for the past couple of game"

I wonder why.  Dude turns the puck over and gets called for a penalty on his 3rd shift.

Luckily, Montreal's abject lack of discipline is keeping us in the game.

period we have had all year, bar none (Habs of course). Still we are horrible and are very vulnerable to teams that have the bodies and ability to cycle.

Sucks not having your #1 d-man eh?

And you are screwing up our draft choice tank!
