Armani Reeves in home with coach Mattison from #Michigan went well according to source, source feels its 52-48 #Michigan over #OhioState

I still think Cam Williams and Armani Reeves want to play together and that could be a huge factor here in favor of #OhioState

I agree that was 'really' a total failure of a post. I have now joined the infamous mgoblog double-posting club.

I still maintain that it's hard to say how much a success a 52-48 split is without really knowning what the breakdown was before and how he has been trending with his thoughts over the last few days.

Interesting. I'd be willing to bet that Mattison was at least on time.

That said, I don't know if I'm the only one, your formatting with these tweets is terrible. There's a bunch of code that shows up before the actual tweets. The code only works if you enter it in the plain text editor. I don't mean to be overly negative, but wasn't sure if you're aware or not.

It's good news.  No it's bad news.  His friend went to tosu.  He wants to play for Mattison.  I can't take it anymore.

It's like trying to understand my wife the day before her period.  No matter what she says, it doesn't count because there wasn't any clarity in any of it.  Please punch me in the face when this kid makes a decision...

That whole angle confuses me. If Armani is that interested in Michigan (and has been for some time), then he obviously doesn't care that much about playing with Williams. We were never really even in the running for him (Williams). I just feel like that whole angle is being overplayed a bit. Both schools are attractive on their own.

I would disagree - I think they both visited schools that either one wasn't interested in but in the end (initially anyway) they chose the same school, Penn State.  Armani stated that in no small part it was because Camren Williams is playing there.

This isn't meant to be negative, but I think when you are that age, the proximity to people that you love and trust plays a huge factor.  I think OSU is going to win this one....

It's just like the Trotwood kids...3 friends that all have offers from the same school.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may be...but I don't recall them every saying they (Reeves and Williams) were going to the same school for sure and it was a packaged deal.

To me this is a lot more similar to Moore, Shaw and Roundtree or RJS, Ross and Richardson all wanting to play together.

He was interested in Michigan long before OSU...long before Meyer. Then we dropped him or there was mutual disinterest...he went to PSU. We dropped Wayne Morgan, Standifer decommitted and Yuri Wright went all Will Hill on Twitter and we rekindled the flame.

Don't think he would've had any interest, but PSU loses their Head Coach over the biggest scandal in college sports...the staff is dismantled, it's messy and he starts to look. So we climb back in the picture.

But wait, Urban Meyer goes to OSU and now they come out of no where...and then Meyer gets his good friend to commit. Now OSU is suddenly in the picture just as much as Michigan.

Does he go to Michigan, where he knows the coaches the best and IMO feels most comfortable. Or does he go play for Coach Meyer, his friends and with the hottest recruiting class of the past few months...included a few guys that were committed to PSU with him. Not to mention Ohio isn't Toledo. Whether we want to admit it or not, they do offer some things. Not chopped liver.

I think it's truly 50/50, and he's just got to figure out his priorities and what means most. If I'm him, I go to Michigan (not because I'm a Michigan fan), because he seems to feel a little more comfortable there. He's only 3 hours from his buddy so it's not like it's Cal vs. Ohio. Better academics. He's been recruited their longer. We have a DB coach and the best defensive coordinator in the game. Ohio has neither. It gives you a chance to be on your own a little without being too far from home or your friends in Columbus.

I can see it going both ways. Hopefully he sticks with his initial thoughts and choses the Maize & Blue rather than Urban Meyer who's been selling pipedreams for a month.

With your truly concise logic and analysis, I can't believe you don't go to at least 52% / 48% rather than 50/50.  Come on down.......take a walk on the wild side.

But let's keep in mind that these are 18-year old kids having a never before experience and then forced to make a very important decision, in his case after the fiasco at PSU.

I'm 55% / 45% and hope to not be disappointed next week, but I won't lose any sleep over it one way or the other.

Cam Williams was definitely interested in Michigan, at least early on.  There were some people who thought he would end up in Ann Arbor in those early stages of his recruitment.  Obviously, he's been higher on PSU and OSU, since he has committed to each school...but Michigan was very much in the running.

I'm speaking more as to since Reeves has reopened his recruitment.

Logic here: Mike Farrell yesterday says he's surprised that Ohio didn't get the commitment. Obviously that means that Ohio wasn't in as good as shape as he anticipated. After Mattison's visit he claims it's 52-48 Michigan but that they still want to play together. Just sounds like fluff to keep both fan bases invested in the situation; if Reeves told me that his godfather (who's been running his recruitment) won't let him do interviews, I have a hard time believing that any of the sites have an inside source with his family that would give up how the visit went last night. With Reeves I don't think anybody is going to know until he's made his choice.

I am a premium member to Scout.  They had Williams to OSU 2 weeks before he verballed.  They must have some inside info about it.  I believe it is a big deal for Reeves that Williams is at OSU.  I think it's the deciding factor actually.  No inside info, but one would have to believe if Williams dad is his mentor that he would like him to play together with his son.  Everyone on here keeps saying how Mattison is the greatest recruiter and blah blah, but Urban is just as relentless and from what I've heard no one out works him.

granted thinking too hard about this stuff never pays off b/c these things are never as they seem.  That being said, if the big decision is going to a place he likes more and fits him better (Michigan) vs going to a place to play with his friend (OSU), I'd like to think that logic will prevail and he'll choose the school that fits him better.  Then again, I don't know shit.

I'm inclined to agree with you.  While this isn't a strict apples to apples comparison everyone I knew in high school who swore they would go to college with a good friend ended up picking different schools.  Hell, when I picked both undergrad and grad school the heart went one way(Naval Academy and Virginia, respectively) and the head went another(Air Force Academy and Michigan) and I ended up an Air Force and Michigan alum.  I think at the end you go with the school you like best, which is why I'm not that worried about Armani picking Ohio just because of Williams.

It's okay, I "pos'd" you...I'm just tired of every little bit of news needing it's own "update" thread. Why couldn't this been included in the last Reeves update thread? Or in the "Any news and updates?" thread?

I feel like we need to make 1 thread per recruit and just leave it at that.

Reeves, Grant, Garnett, Diamond and Kozan each get their own thread...and just talk away in each.

Mr. Yost

January 25th, 2012 at 12:15 PM ^

But a tweet by one person about really nothing isn't anything that is new thread worthy...this could've been added to one of the other 2 Reeves threads.

He didn't drop OSU, didn't set a date, didn't commit or make a public statement. You've got one guy tweeting that his source says it's 52/48 Michigan, but he thinks Cam Williams is going to play a big part into this.

What part of that is groundbreaking? Maybe if the source said 75/25 we could get all excited, but when you're talking about a 17 year old and someone, even if it's the kids mother says 52/48, what does that matter? Since when is that a leadpipe lock except on GoBlueWolverine where Tom Beaver likes to act like 50.1% is enough to breathe sigh of relief and 52% means we can add him to the depth chart?

If you don't wanna read it then don't click on it who cares if there's one more thread. I like the updates no matter how small and just cause you say they're not worthy of a new thread doesn't make it true. Like I said IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT DON'T CLICK ON IT!!!! JESUS STOP BITCHING
