MSU proposes new scoreboards at Spartan Stadium

Submitted by FabFiver5 on

Michigan State has propsed new scoreboards for their stadium and the renderings were published today by the State News.

They look nice and will have all sorts of room for ads. Also, apparently they were killing Texas Tech when the pictures were taken.

From what I had heard they are going to be slightly bigger than ours (no surprise).  I just laugh that they still have to put sponsorships on their scoreboards.  How about a huge McDonald's sign above them or on their uniforms?  Sounds good to me

How's that saying go? Something about lipstick on a pig? Plus, as far as I know, they're putting in one big board that's bigger when compared to of our our twos.  I'd rather have two.

For reference, the LED strip connecting the two north screens is diagrammed at 10' tall.

They didn't mention the expanding 'U2-like' video wall. If there was one, it would likely be between the two scoreboards on the north end. However, while the main components will be completed from 3/2012 - 7/2012, there are some aspects of it that will not be completed until 2013. There are some speculating that this additional construction period will be for the north facade improvements as well as, maybe, an additional 'expanding' function to the portion of the LED strip connecting the two north scoreboards. This is speculative and based on older rumors as much as the current proposal.

Additionally, this will include an improvement to the facade of the north end of the stadium. When it was originally approved for proposal in December, it included some seat additions.

every shitty seat in that gawdawful hell-hole, with all of the warmth of a soviet-era public administration building.  I don't think I will ever go there again.

Lil bro is jealous again and had to tell the world "me too".  I wonder if they can afford it?  I guess the ads will help pay for it.  I wonder if they have an original thought.

or just plain dumb?

Outdoor hockey has been played for over 100 years.  How do you think the game was played before electricity was common for refrigeration?  Oh yes, it was played outside.  Anyone can play hockey in a rickety stadium, but only Michigan and do it with style and grace in the Big House.

UM never said we were the first to get HD boards.  However, our board do not have any advertising and it is the Big House.

Go back to the Red Cedar Bowel Movement where you came from sparty.  You will always be Little Brother.  The sooner you accept it, the easier your life will become.  You will not be filled with so much hate.

I dont really hate sparty.  I know several hundred MSU Graduates (noticed that I capitalized MSU) that are good and honest people.  Not everyone can get into UM.  I know several MSU grads that went to MSU after being denied to UM.  I have no problem with those people because their heart is in A2, many are season ticket holders to UM too.  They just could not get in to UM for whatever reason.  I dont hold that against them like others on here do.  Yea it is fun to see the T-Shirts say: "If Ann Arbor was a whore, why couldnt you get in?"  That is funny and has some truth to it, but not everyone can get in.  The latest undergrad admissions is about 50% acceptance rate.  That is a lot of people being denied

I sit next to a sparty at work and she is awesome.  She understands her place in the universe and the space-time continuium is balanced.  Its the walmart sparties that I dislike because they think they are like us.  They want to be like us but they cant.  Also there are some msu students that are bitter for being rejected by UM.  It is those people that hate us when actually it is mis-placed anger.  They should be angry at themselves for not getting the grades or test scores to get in.

over 50% of MSU students applied to (and were rejected from) UM.  (link is down).

I have no problem with people supporting their team.  Its those that hate on us for being rejected that I have a problem with.  Not everyone can meet UM high standards.  However, instead of being mad at themselves and channeling that energy into positive action, they just hate on us.

Is it UM fault that they did not study, get good grades, volunteer for the homeless/helpless, be a positive role model in the community?  But sparty will not ever accpet that.  it is so much easier to hate on us than to accept responsibility for their own situation.

I think you have a very serious problem; however, I've got some good news: I've already diagnosed you! You sir, have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. You might want to look into it.

"Narcissistic Personality Disorder involves arrogant behavior, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration-all of which must be consistently evident at work and in relationships. People who are narcissistic are frequently described as cocky, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding. Narcissists may concentrate on unlikely personal outcomes (e.g., fame) and may be convinced that they deserve special treatment."

Now that we have that cleared up, let's see if you can look past your problems and understand how ignorant you sound. You seem to claim that Michigan is vastly superior to Michigan State in every way; yet, people who actually matter disagree with you. I suggest you take a look at this information from New York Times: it relays the direct opinion of CEO's and successful businessmen from all around the world. (I know you think your opinion of who's better is more important than the many CEO's and chairman of the world's most successful companies, but I think you need to tone down on the "world revolves around me and U-M" argument).

and you have only been here a few weeks.  You need to understand the facts.  You have not cleared up anything.  Again this is the sparty tactic, avoid the truth and hopefully people will believe you.  You search for the data that supports your position by scouring the internet for something you can hang on to.

You provide a graph that anyone can make.  Who is the author of this chart?  Who is the source?  Oh I found it...SOURCE EMERGING.  So this is a sparty wet dream.  Go away sparty.  You will always be lil brother, there is nothing you can do.

The facts are the facts.  USNWR releases college ranking every year.  They are the experts and consistantly rank UM higher.  UM has higher incoming SAT scores and higher GPAs.  That is a fact.   So you can make up any chart you want.  Just go away lil bro and quit crying.  It will be ok.

Avoid the truth? Scour the internet for something I can hang on to? A graph that anyone can make? Talk about lame excuses. This comes directly from the New York Times. Anybody can plainly see that this is, in fact, completely credible and completely relevant to the argument. CEO's and chairmen of the most important businesses and companies all over the world sat down and ranked the Universities that they favor the most in respect to hiring alumni. Michigan State just happened to place higher than Michigan.

If anybody's living the wet dream, it's you. Michigan is an excellent institution; one of the best institutions in the entire world, in fact. Many of the students there go on to successful careers and many of them were extremely well taught coming out of high school. That being said, Michigan State is an excellent institution as well. According to the New York Times -- no, not some bogus website that supports your argument, the NEW YORK TIMES -- Michigan State graduates are preferred over Michigan graduates.

I know this is hard for you, but you need to understand that having no social-life and spending 12 hours a day perfecting your homework assignments, playing x-box, or programming a website doesn't make you more intelligent OR give you a better chance of success. Life's about balance, the most successful students learn that early on in life.

I think that looks pretty awesome. It has two nike swooshes for ads, I'd say it's pretty nice, better than ours even. I don't really like all the blank space on ours.

Shouldn't they work on other more pressing prioties first? Maybe like getting some....I dunno....fans or something to watch them?

Just a thought.
