Why is it so difficult for us to score on the last possession of the first half? This has been true throughout Beilein's tenure. It's a mystery.

These refs are clearly way too conscious of the foul differential and are trying to keep it close since Purdue is the home team. I can think of no other explanation some of this crap.

This just in: Michigan basketball game at Oakland doesn't count as a road win. Might be in the same state, but it's still a road win. Silly commentators...

the term "true" road win thrown around a lot when analysts talk about it. That covers Maui and the Oakland game at the Palace which is basically on campus at OU.

A true road game is one that is played in the other team's arena. If Georgetown plays at the Verizon Center, it's considered neutral court. That's how it counts in RPI.

It was officially a road game (anyone who was there can attest that Oakland was clearly the host team). However, it obviously wasn't really a road environment, with the crowd being about 50-50.

It was at the palace. Yes thats closer to Oakland, but not very far form either. And I believe they are talking about a real team. Oakland doesn't count. That being said, Go Grizzlies! That's my home town.

Hardaway and Burke both need to improve their play. They both have 3 turnovers on 0 and 2 assists respectively. Better handling from them and we'd have a couple more buckets to add to our 2 point lead.

People in the thread are justifiably down on THJ, but Burke's been equally bad. He's had several bad turnovers and a couple blowbys on D.
I've also noticed we rarely move THJ around. He spends most of the game waiting on the left wing as Burke and Morgan work their 2 man game, and when he gets the ball, he largely has to create on his own. The one exception was the shot he hit off the curl. We should do more of that. He seems more consistent when he's able to catch the ball with some momentum.

THJ and Smotrycz are 5-28 in the last four games from 3 point range. That's not gotta cut it.

I think you have to let him shoot himself out of his slump. Actually both 3s he took were reasonable shots. The first used an exchange with Novak to get an open look and the other he got the ball at the end of the shot clock and had little choice but to put it up.

Well he did spark the team a bit early in the 2nd so I give him credit for that. Still it was such a frustrating game to watch. Burke was shooting blanks at times (it happens). The refs kept Purdue in it fo sho.

If you think THJ shouldn't be playing, you are a dumb ass. who are you going to play in his stead? Vogrich? Mclimans? Brundidge? If THJ is struggling he is struggling. He is the best scorer on the team and without question one of the 5 best players. Just because THJ pissed you off, in not a real good reason for Belien to bench him.
