OT: Cheap ESPN The Magazine + Insider subscription

Submitted by bdsisme on

For those of you who are looking to get ESPN Insider access cheap (and haven't jumped on the cheap subscription deals that have popped up on the board over the past 6 months), this is a deal for you.

DiscountMags.com is selling subscriptions to ESPN The Magazine for:

* 3 years $10.49
* 2 years $9.49
* 1 year $4.99

Once you receive your first issue, you can use your unique subscriber number to create your ESPN Insider account.

To order, go to: http://www.discountmags.com/product/4627 and apply coupon code MAGS to receive the discount.

Is it true if you order more than 2 years you can't link your account online, you than have to call?

Do you need a credit card to set up insider?

Do you have to call and remove auto renew even though you may have years left on your subscription or else you will be charged full price?

I'm not certain of the answers to your questions, so I'll refer you to the previous threads on this topic (I believe that most of these questions have been answered in past threads).

Generally speaking, I'd say that it's best to call after 4 weeks have passed to set up your Insider access -- they should have your subscriber number by then.  You could then have all your questions addressed by the CSR, and have the CSR take you off auto-renew if it defaults to "on".

I had to call.  Someone in a previous thread provided a number which I called.  It didn't take more than 5 minutes.  I had to give her my credit card number, though she de-selected the auto renew option for me and gave me some sort of credit for the first year.  When the first year of insider runs out, the lady said then I would have to enter my magazine code and the subscription would run for the subsequent two years.

It should come, I've never had a problem with them.  It usually takes 4-6 weeks for ESPN to receive your subscription information, and then if you factor in that it's a once-a-month magazine, you could expect that it'd take upwards of 2 months to actually receive your first issue.  ESPN should at least have your subscription information now, so I'd suggest calling ESPN The Magazine and making sure that everything is squared away.

They are a rip-off. Waited 6 weeks to get subscription. Called ESPN, they had no record of an order for me through Discount Magazines. Tried numerous time to get in touch with Discount Magazines, they never responded. Had PayPal investigate and they apologized and refunded my money. I ordered directly with ESPN and got instant online access and started receiving the magazine 2-3 weeks later. It was not worth the time and aggravation I went through to save a few bucks.

I just activated insider.  I ordered the back around thanksgiving and will receive the mag in another week.  you may have to wait till your mag arrival date before calling to set the insider.  Just keep calling from a month till you are suppose to receive the mag.

Also, you will have to call the mag subscription dept to get your acct number and them call the main number back to activate it.

Did I miss something or did the price change already?  Clicked on the link and it is about $13 bucks per year.  Still a good deal, but not what was in the original post.

i subscribed to the magazine about 5 years back for $3 for 1 year and never renewed it but i still get the magazine and still have the insider status on the website. Every once in a while when i clocik on the rumors sections i get sent to a page saying i need to subscribe to be an insider, but then i just click on a different insider link and i get all the content...what up with that?
