Kyle Kalis Interview

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on

Hey guys, I was fortunate enough to talk with Kyle Kalis earlier this evening. The results....were interesting. Here's the interview: Kyle Kalis

Yeah, that one did it for me. I loved Pipkins most, then I loved them equally when he talked about spilling Ohio blood, then I got put over the top by Pavarotti.

I want to talk to him about classical music and see what he's got to say

"Quote it. Let them know"
That is just beautiful.
Yeah it may be good bulletin board material but I think it also motivates the person saying it. Gotta back it up. You gotta have the right personality to say it though. I think he qualifies.

Loving this kid!  I just wish he had a year to soak up Molk's madness; HOWEVA, I'm pretty sure Lewan will assist in keeping that tSIO hatred going.  I love the wall that we are building for Morris....just need some playmakers to cap it off.  You have to think those RB recruits out there are scouting this stuff out.

One of my favorite parts, when he's talking about the backlash in Ohio when he chose Michigan:

I gave my address out to about 20 people and told them to come find me. Nobody came.

That's pretty badass.

I think they play Tschesnokoff's "Salvation is Created", not Nessun Dorma. FWIW, either one is absulutely gorgeous. Imagine hearing a 375 member band play this as the sun rises on a crisp Game Day morning. This video does not do it justice, though.

It's also a Glee Club favorite:

Every interview, assuming you're quoting yourself directly, it's immediately apparent why you're so good at this. You are outstanding at keeping the interview light while still getting the same quality of information as other folks doing what you do. It not only makes an awesome experience for the kids you interview, but it makes a great read for your audience. Fantastic.

You also have your own voice. I love Brian and other mgoblog contributors, but I love your style, also.

Thanks for the action and keep up the great work!

Get ready for a stupid question but I've never bothered to find this out:  Is it legit to contact a recruit that's solid with a school and not taking visits ike Meyer did in this case?  I've obviously heard of soft commits etc but I was under the impression that when a recruit is solid other coaches shouldn't be calling- or is he fair game until he signs on the dotted line?

Reading this interview is like watching The Sopranos. I love every second of it, but I'm also a little scared to go outside of my door afterwards.

Why do I get the feeling that we may end up with a team of Opera singing hit men?  There are some seriously disturbed recruits coming in and I'm getting excited!  Is there any way we can fast-forward to next season without giving up summer or aging anymore?  Screw it, let's go anyway!

I hope Lewan can provide some guidance on controlling his aggression and not getting personal fouls every other game. Otherwise, pure animal! Love it!

...and the way he cracked himself up after making all of those super aggressive statements. It almost makes him seem even scarier. Better watch out, Ohio!
