I hate Notre Dame much more than Ohio State.  At least Ohio State was good (I know they cheated and such, but bear with me).  I cannot believe the amazing amount of attention and hype Notre Dame gets every year from ESPN and the like.  I also cannot believe how good their recruiting is despite not being truly nationally relevant in the last 15 years or so (other than Reggie Bush push year).  It bothers me how, despite all logic, everyone still loves to talk about them all the fucking time.

why is it that when someone has some Irish blood, people are surprised when that person is not an ND fan.  i had this happen to me at the Meechigan vs. ND game during Henne, Hart and Long's senior year.  the ND fan asked why i was not an ND fan, being Irish and all... well i told him that i am Irish protestant, not Irish catholic.

also redheaded men are not gingers, we are Otis's.

I mean, ginger is the conventional term so I use it (not in an offensive way, just to mess around).  I clearly don't have a problem with Irish or red-headed people being that my best friend is both, but it's still fun to make fun of him especially since he is a ND fan.

Ohio quite literally lied and cheated away the better part of a decade of the rivalry.  Believe me, I don't like Notre Dame and their self-righteous arrogance at all but I respect their academics. There is no evidence at ND of the sort of lying/cheating/total NCAA disregard in the last decade.

Ohio owes me ten years.

Wow. On the bright side, that can't hurt our chances with Diamond. Diamond has expressed concern before about depth charts, and it seems like most of our top "OT" recruits are actually destined for OG. Plus, not that this is necessarily an obstacle, but isn't Meyer working with like zero scholarships at this point?

Meyer has been able to flip recruits from PSU (Schutt), ND (Decker), & MSU (Pittman), but he has not been able to touch a recruit from Michigan's class even though Michigan's class is higher ranked than the other three.  Hoke has stood tall and managed the excitement from OSU in the Urban Liar honeymoon period.

Let's be clear here because Urban Meyer doesn't deserve credit for "flipping" these guys. How these 'flips' actually happened:

  1. Pittman committed to MSU to save a spot in their class in the event OSU hired a shitty coach or had severe sanctions. As soon as sanctions and Urban Meyer were announced, goodbye Sparty.
  2. Schutt's commitment was denied by ND after getting Sheldon Day, denied by Michigan because we either had Pipkins or don't need a DT in Schutt's style, and committed to PSU. PSU had their whole crazy scandal and fired Joe Pa. He switched to OSU.
  3. OSU hired ND's OC and OL coach, who happen to be Decker's main recruiting contacts. Poof, OSU commit.

I'm not taking anything away from these guys' talent, but let's not annoint Urban Meyer as some grand master of flipping recruits, kind of like keeping Dunn, a lifelong Buckeye fan and already an OSU commit, isn't confirmation that Meyer will destroy Hoke in recruiting.

Ultimately, this is a kid that grew up in Ohio that was committed to ND and followed his position coach to OSU.

I'm not surprised Meyer is snagging other teams recruits in his first go at ohio recruiting. There's a bit a of a buzz and he's capitalizing on it. I doubt this will be the case as much going forward. Once he's established things may be very different. Especially if the Meyer that took the ohio job is the same Meyer that struggled in his last year at Florida (post Charlie Strong). Then he's going to have a tough time stealing the bacon.

Not too surprising. His position coach and primary recruiter, Ed Warinner and Tim Hinton, from Notre Dame were recently announced as the last members of Meyer's offensive staff. Apparently those two were huge reasons that he liked Notre Dame so much. So them going to OSU made this decommitment pretty easy I'm sure.

For all of the success Meyer has had thus far, they desperately needed (and continue to need) more depth on the OL.

This takes their offensive line depth from "Hold me, OSU-equivalent-of-TomVH" to merely "shit, shit, shit..."

I don't know about you but when a recruit is already a verbal to Ohio (before The Liar was even hired), I don't consider that a "flip" or a "recruiting battle" won. He simply held serve and retained an existing recruit.

Meyers knew what he was doing when he hired them Notre Dame coaches. Because of the recruiting success that Columbus Community College is having, my stomach understands how an inflamed case of crohns disease must feel but with an ulcer, ugh!

How is this off topic??? I spoke to the topic and how it makes me feel Meyers is having some recruiting success. You cannot be serious!

for starters you can ask where was urban in 1982 and was he in Dallas hanging out with craig james.  i would hate to blame CRAIG JAMES FOR HAVING KILLED FIVE HOOKERS if it was really URBAN MEYER WHO KILLED FIVE HOOKERS
