OT-Packers OC son missing
Sorry i know it is not related to Michigan, but a sad story out of Wisconsin.
Packers OC, Joe Philbin's, son has been missing since Sunday at 2 am. It is believed that he drowned in the Wisconsin River around the Oshkosh, Wisconsin area. The ESPN story says that a body has been found that appears to be between the ages of 20-25. His son is 21, also a security guard heard cries for help from the ice.
My thoughts are out to the Philbin family as well as the Packers organization.

They just announced on the ESPN crawl that his body was pulled from a pond earlier today. Incredibly sad.

As a dad this truly puts a football game into perspective. I can't even imagine what he is dealing with right now.

anything worse. You do NOT want to outlive your kids. Very sad.

One thing that stuck me recently is that while I hope and pray that I outlive my children, I also don't want them to go through the pain of losing me or my wife. I just hope that if they outlive us, it is at an age where they can cope with it better. I know that there might be a time when I have to bury one or both of my parents, and I just don't know how I am going to be able to deal with that.
Death sucks. Fuck death. Nothing good comes from it. The deceased loses because well...they're dead. The survivors lose because they spend the rest of their lives missing and grieving for the deceased.

Pray for Joe Philbin and his family.

I heard this on the radio this afternoon - that he was missing - tragic ending. Truly feel for the parents, especially having to live this out in the public eye. Doesn't get any worse.

I'm guessing that this might never be solved. Out drinking with his friends at a bar, friends go to a different bar and leave him ... guy ends up in the middle of a river. Annnd he had a cellphone which he made a call from and didn't sound incapacitated or distressed. Weeeeiiirrrrddd.

Maybe foul play?

He did plead no contest to assaulting two underage, intoxicated girls (http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41158352.html). Never know if someone wanted to take justice into his or her own hands
