Armani Reeves visiting this weekend
Armani Reeves to take official visit to Michigan this weekend per Rivals Mike Farrell Twitter.
https://twitter.com/#!/rivalsmike/status/156457396162670594
Also says Ohio visit may follow which is not good news especially considering his teammate Camren Williams is deciding between staying with PSU or switching to Ohio.

This visit is all of a sudden pretty important given we're not really after Yuri Wright anymore.
January 9th, 2012 at 2:53 PM ^
and where they're getting it, but if it really is the case, someone should tell Wright and his coach, because it doesn't sound like they know yet.

Feel free to neg my above comment. I am having a rough day on the board today.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:09 PM ^
I upvoted because I like your blog.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:16 PM ^
same here. you do good work on your blog, and practice reports seem to indicate Wright may be more of a natural safety and not the 6'2" Charles Woodson we envisioned.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:18 PM ^
Reeves seems to be priority #1, but I am hoping that Michigan isn't totally turning away from Yuri Wright.
I'd still rather have both.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:25 PM ^
clarify whether this is fact or fiction? I have read it here too but no one seems to be saying or why or where they read/heard it. I would be interested to know. I really wanted Wright.
January 9th, 2012 at 2:53 PM ^
What?
January 9th, 2012 at 4:04 PM ^
His coach told Tim over at Rivals that Yuri is still visiting Michigan this weekend and that his status has not changed as far as he knows.
January 9th, 2012 at 2:52 PM ^
Hopefully he likes what he sees here and picks the good guys
January 9th, 2012 at 2:53 PM ^
Hoke going head to head with Meyer for a kid that didn't grow up a huge OSU fan. Believe it or not I like our chances (that is if he decides to decommit from PSU).
January 9th, 2012 at 2:54 PM ^
a buckle up was in order!
January 9th, 2012 at 2:57 PM ^
If a commit visits another school, then they should part ways. Welcome to the good guys Armani!
Hey I can dream.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:01 PM ^
Bill O'Brian probably needs....um...i dunno....a coaching staff or something before he can make any rules like that one. I mean who would actually be the one to tell the kid he'd violated said rule?
Not like there's a whole lotta chiefs right now in happy valley....mostly indians.

Early look at PSU football coaching staff:
HC-OC Bill O'Brien
DC rumored Ted Roof
DL Larry Johnson
LB Ron Vanderlinden
OL Mac McWhorter
RB Charles London
WR Stan Hixon
TE John Strollo
He still has 2 openings left most likely for DB and QB-ST coaches.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:04 PM ^
O'Brien.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
Hoke didn't Put that rule into effect until this class. The lineman that went to Oregon and countess both took visits after hoke was brought in.
January 9th, 2012 at 2:58 PM ^
Meyer is certainly trying to hack away at Brady's 2012 class. They kept calling Kalis, visited AJ William's b-ball game, took a run at Bolden and now are trying to move in on Reeves.

January 9th, 2012 at 4:27 PM ^
Hey, just a second. According to Tressel, there is an agreement amongst gentlemen. One of you is not telling the truth. Hmmmmmmmm....
January 9th, 2012 at 4:37 PM ^
We must have forgot we stole Kalis first..

I wonder when there are going to be late night releases about some transfers or medicals at Ohio. They have like 1 or 2 spots left and are still having LB's Corners, and skill guys visit. They are in dire need of offensive tackles. Where do those fit in the recruiting plan? Student tryouts?
January 9th, 2012 at 4:35 PM ^
Im sure some of their players will transfer.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:13 PM ^
Is Camren Williams really looking at OSU? They've already picked up Spence, Pittman, Schutt and Washington. That would be an incredible class.
It's interesting that Hoke (defensive coach) is building a monster OL while Meyer (offensive coach) is building a monster DL.
I may be in the minority, but I really wish that the Michigan coaches had gone hard after one more interior DL (most notably, Schutt). I know that they have a plan in place but this would have been a good year to stockpile a position of need.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:15 PM ^
williams was a LB...
January 9th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
And why UM isn't after him, I am guessing.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
Whichi is somewhat worrisome considering Williams' father is Armani Reeves' godfather and primary advisor.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:25 PM ^
Especially for Reeves, and has stated so a few times.
I am guessing he'd say the same about his son, if not for our depth and that we already have four LB recruits.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:55 PM ^
Reading between the lines signs from reports from recruiting sites indicate they would prefer to go to the same school. Michigan is not an option for Camren Williams. Getting him on campus is huge though because anything can happen on an official visit. Similar to Dunn though, I'm not getting my hopes up.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:49 PM ^
Just an interesting little nugget of info.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:14 PM ^
Yeah!!
January 9th, 2012 at 3:19 PM ^
If we don't get wright, and assuming Reeves doesn't add another 3-4 inches, do we have anyone in the program or who we're after that can match up with a big receiver? Having a bunch of 5'9", 175 LB corners isn't going to do the trick.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:26 PM ^
It's about much more than your height.
That said, I'd love to add Reeves and Wright.
January 9th, 2012 at 5:09 PM ^
Obviously there is much more than height, but we got torched by bigger receivers this year...also, did you see how well the bigger Va Tech WRs blocked our DBs.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:29 PM ^
i keep seeing people just talk about our OL but i think we have a great DL class too. Maybe not the headliners OSU is getting aside from Pipkins but alot of potential. I rlly like chris wormley's ceiling and remember u never know with these rankings. Des morgan was a 3 star and started for us most the year
January 9th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
Where did you guys hear that we're not going after Wright? I thought we were heating up with him after the Sugar Bowl win.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
I honestly think it's a more Wright cooled on Michigan after the ND visit sort of thing and folks are just repeating hear say. There have been no reports on any recruiting sites about us cooling on Wright and I don't personally know the kid or anyone who does.
I do think the peoples comments about "we're glad we stopped recuiting wright" should be removed since his recruitment is ongoing. There is always a chance a recruit could find this site and choose not to go where he is not wanted.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:15 PM ^
Then you haven't been reading Scout for the past week because that's exactly what Webb has been saying for the last 6 days now.
January 9th, 2012 at 5:12 PM ^
Has he given an explanation as to why we supposedly cooled on him? Webb's as good as there is when it comes to these things, but this is a little hard to believe.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
I like Reeves more as a receiver than a cornerback, but I'd like to get him on campus no matter what. He seems like a good kid and he's got wheels.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
Looks like Urban Meyer agrees with you. He wants Reeves as a slot.
January 9th, 2012 at 3:42 PM ^
Williams will be a Buckeye. I suspect Reeves will come down to Michigan and OSU. It is stated they would like to play for the same school and that pretty much leaves only one choice now.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
Doesn't OSU have to start worrying about schollie totals? I would think they would only take 2-3 more in this class.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:26 PM ^
coaching changes seem to have a way of making scholarships open up.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:30 PM ^
been a while since we've had a lockdown corner, not to mention a solid d backfield what with the evil um db hating gods. donovan warren was close. we need some help there, especially since we'll have to have them on an island to allow the rest to contain miller's runs next yr vs osu.
January 9th, 2012 at 4:33 PM ^
TomVH was being cryptic again today during his recruit live chat....here.
Sounds like we all could get a nice suprise during signing day!
January 9th, 2012 at 4:38 PM ^
i actually thought he was referring to Reeves visiting, considering he said it was a commit to another school.
There is some twitter noise about Camren Williams commiting to OSU, so I'm not sure how much of a lock Reeves would be at this point. Are there any other ND, PSU or other commits on the radar?
January 9th, 2012 at 6:47 PM ^
I think he may be talking about this guy:
http://espn.go.com/colleges/michigan/football/recruiting/player/_/id/123567/evan-goodman
Obviously I could be wrong but I haven't heard much about him and he's commited to ASU with a scheduled visit this weekend. Interesting prospect seeing as he's an OT.
January 9th, 2012 at 5:01 PM ^
I would not be surprised if we get shut out down the stretch. Garnett is visiting Stanford last and Reeves still has an OSU visit and PSU was his first love. Meanwhile, Grant has never seemed that high on us.
Oh well, hope to be pleasantly surprised at best and at worst we have a couple more scollies for next year whilst coming off an 11-2 year.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:21 PM ^
Yeah, be more optimistic. We'll get at least 2 guys we want. My guess is Garnett and Reeves. And there are ALWAYS new names that pop up. Don't worry.
