WIth the praise Pipkins has been getting at the Army Bowl, I wonder what the odds are that he gets a 5th star. Rivals really favors the Army game and bases much of their final rankings on the game. If he dominates the camp and game, against that level of competition, it wouldn't be  a stretch for him to jump from the 50's into the late 20's or low 30's and get a 5th star.

Also, Joe Bolden is going to get a massive ratings bump across the board, no? I would be surprised if he doesn't end up as a Rivals 100 guy.

"PeeWee" said there were too many reasons to get into, but that the biggest reason was the education.  He also has strong feelings for Ohio; he's hungry.

Thanks for the link.  I enjoyed listening to that interview.

He looks really good, especially with how well he's been playing at the conbine. My only worry is that he doesn't show up in game shape and has to redshirt, we need him to contribute right away.

I think Brian has stated that (in his opinion) there is no such thing as "good weight" over 320.  Pipkins just looks really broad to me and he says he has been working his shoulders quite a bit.  He looks like he carries 330 lbs about as well as it is possible to carry 330 lbs.

Considering Brian's omniscience regarding things football, it's shocking to me that Dave Brandon did not hire him as our head football coach.  More amazing, not even interviewed for recruiting coordinator.  Seriously, did Brady ask Brian about Ondre's weight before we offered a schollie? This should be step one in any Michigan recruiting process.

He does look big, but it's nothing Wellman and a few days in the gym can't fix. But ya, he can't let himself go just to get bigger. Game shape is what it's all about.

He said in a few years, and I agree with him. Our d-line didn't exactly set the world on fire this year, so it's not a big stretch to say that the talent we have coming in with 4 years of Mattison will be outstanding. Love the guys that we're losing this year, but there's room for improvement.

I can't wait for Ondre to get on campus.  Sounds like a great kid.  I always love it when the future players feel the same way about Ohio as I do.

I guarantee you that Pipkins will play next year.  The guys at 247sports reporting on the Army AA game said that he is stout.  When they were asked if stout was a bad thing, they said that stout is a word that NFl scouts use to describe big NT.  He already has an NFL ready body and is really quick off the ball considering his size.

It was weird when it all went down with Schutt and Danny O, but I'm really really glad the coaches kept their focus on landing PeeWee.

Sure, it would have been nice to get one of the other guys as well, but in my opinion if you're only going to get one, he's the one to get.

Indeed. I'm not sure what magic Wellman will work, but he already fills that shirt out like someone who has been doing the work, and not on drumsticks.

I'll go further: I predict that Pipkins will be starting by the time the conference schedule starts. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him start against AF and UMass.
