Garmon commits to Iowa, yet they have the same number of RBs

Submitted by iawolve on

Sorry to see Garmon go there, I think we will be pretty good. However, he has to know that it is a cursed position with that team. They lost their #2 RB McCall to transfer on Tuesday. They leave, get hurt, can't qualify, have a mysterious disappearance (Coker best guess is cheating of some sort, but someone was cheating off of him?) or become All-B10. A bit of a grab bag I guess.

Fortunately, high schoolers don't seem to believe in (or fear) AIRBHG.  I kind of pity their innocence.

Iowa should hire a life therapist instead of a running back coach.  If we can eliminate stupid behavior from the causes of running back attrition we'd be putting out NFL backs like we do lineman, linebackers and tight ends.

I think Garmon would be a great canidate to switch to safety or even receiver. Most of the teams that were recruiting him initially wanted him at safety, including Miami, and I think Michigan was as well.

Still, Greg is a great kid and a good athlete. He should do well at Iowa.

I don't think the coaches were enamored with Garmon. No slight to Garmon though, good kid, heck of a running back. Best of luck to him at Iowa, except when he plays Michigan. I'm really excited to see Hayes and Rawls get the chance to play next year.
