OT: Raiola makes fun of Packers fans

Submitted by MGoCooper on

After being asked about the Green Bay Packer fans long standing tradition of mooning the visitor busses, Raiola had this to say. "I get to the stadium too early. I don't see that. But that'd be pretty awesome to see. I don't know if I want to see any of those people naked. They're not in real good shape up there." he went on to say the following about Packer fans in general, "It looks like they live a simple life. They love the Pack and that's pretty much it."

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Mr. Raiola. Cheese, brawts and beer are tasty, but they really don't do a lot for the waist line. Keep your pants up, Wisconsin.

im offended.  Those of us living in Packerland don't care JUST about the Packers...

We also care deeply about beer and sausage, most of us moreso (as the pictures indicate).

For me, the Packers still have plenty of goodwill in the bank for all of those years when they had just horrible mgmt decisions and promising draft picks go sour (Mossy Cade, Tony Mandarich, etc.)

At one point GB had QB Lynn Dickey, WR John Jefferson, WR James Lofton, TB Gerry Ellis, TB Eddie Lee Ivory, TE Paul Kaufman and still managed to get their asses kicked every year by  either Dallas or some awful team in the playoffs like the St. Louis Cardinals.   The "Slackers" were rarely, if ever, good enough for home field advantage it seemed.

I didn't think it was possible for NFL team management to make a worse series of QB decisions until Green Bay came along. Look at this progression of fail why don't you?

Jon Hadl, Lynn Dickey, David Whitehurst, back to Lynn Dickey again, Rich Campbell, back to Lynn Dickey again, Randy Wright (from Dave McClain's Wisconsin Badgers *ugh*), Don "Magic" Majkowski, Mike Tomzcak.

And through it all, what about Lambeau Field? Packed every Sunday.

Most people think about the Favre years and forget everything else.

I like the Packers, but aww mother of god Green Bay football really sucked for so many years. What made it a classic tragedy was the way the team would get fans' hopes up just enough to tear them to ribbons by the time the Chicago Bears rolled in to town.

I swear by the time he left GB, Packers QB Lynn Dickey broke more bones in his body than Evel Knievel.

So yeah, easy to ridicule. But hard for me to hate the Packers.

crap player. Didn't this arse give his own fans the finger a couple of 0-16 seasons ago? Talk to us about fans then Dominic.

Wanker extremis. I wouldn't even have him on the trash-eating Vikes.

I find it adorable that this guy feels the need to spout his mouth off any time they put a microphone in front of him. He's not a very good football player and has absolutely no class. Until the Lions beat the Pack in Lambeau he needs to STFU. Its been what, fifteen years since they won there?

I was there.  Lambeau Field was damned cold.   I didn't realize at the time that I witnessed such a legendary LIons win.    I remember being so freezing cold to the core that I just wanted the game to end as quickly as possible.

Both franchises were basically mired in mediocrity for most of the 70's and 80's.  The Packers' trajectory afterwards is mind-boggling.    The Lions will always have the Barry years that were littered with occasional playoff appearances (and how can we forget the magical Scott Mitchell offensive explosion year?!).   But hats must be tipped to Packers management during the 90's and 00's.   They've been playoff contenders in most years over the past two decades.

The completely crazy thing is that over those 20 years, Rodgers and Favre started all but 4 games (first 3 of 1992 when Majkowski started and the game last year when Rodgers sat out after his concussion). How many different starters have the Lions had over the same period?
