META: How-to on Embedding Video

Submitted by octal9 on

Though my annotations don't appear to be showing up just yet, but I'm sure I'll get it figured out. This is my first youtube video: I am awesome and the annotations are fixed. A flash presentation on embedding video on MGoBlog follows. Enjoy.

That was helpful.  There are many new posters on the Board.  How about some additonal how-to help from the experienced guys on things like posting pictures and sizing them correctly, framing quotes in the often-used yellow box, and other tools that make the interesting and creative.  Thanks.

Blockquoting can be tricky. I'm going to do my best to show it in video here.

First, copy and paste the text you want:

I changed the text I quoted to shorten this post.

You can either click the blockquote button before or after pasting. It'll blockquote whichever line your cursor happens to be on at the time. Additionally, it blockquotes a paragraph at a time.

I'll show that here.

Like so.

See? One paragraph at a time.

If I make a quote, I need to stop the quote before I start typing.

See I'm still in the quote.

Now (sorta) I'm not. Now I'm really not.

Anytime you're in doubt, check the source and make sure your blockquote tags line up properly. You need a start <start> (note the name) and end </start> (note the /name) tag for it to all work properly.

Images will have to come some other time, I'm "working."

Edit: Other upload appears to have bombed. Reuploaded.
