I dislike the pettiness that sometimes shows up and the occasional childish back and forth comments that have no bearing on the topic under discussion.

And fuck Ohio while I am at it.

More people need to have the balls to admit they disagree with another poster.  And then, use some of that collective MGoIntelligence to have a decent discussion about it.

I have seem some kickass exchanges on here when two posters have different viewpoints and are willing to talk about them.  Sometimes these discussions have even included rare phrases like "I see your point" and "I concede that you're right about that, but..."  That is great stuff and I usually come away from those threads feeling smarter and nursing a shred of hope for humanity (which is in short supply when you spend too much time on other boards).  I don't know why I don't see more of it here.  You guys are opinionated and smart, so let's see it.

(I would attempt to set an example, but my knowledge of football is two clicks above "drooling moron" so I'm not equipped.)

Female.  But not robust.

But it's Festivus.  Ballsy complaint in order.  What's the deal with this karma crap?

I know we're not supposed to talk about points, but karma is something else.  I fail to use the /s (because I'm not macho enough to be truly sarcastic), and the more subtle /tic may be miscontrued as easily as the not-quite-serious comment that reduced my karma the first time.  But since then?  The karma comes, and then it goes, and I don't know why, but I know it's real because all the technology in my apt. (and even some of the upholstery) is failing at the same time, even down to my speakers and Ctrl key!  So whoever's in charge of ruining karma, take a holiday break!

the convenient archives on the left side of the site are no longer there and I now have to go through the difficulty of searching for past content.

you have disappointed me in the following ways:

1. People complaining and/or making every argument possible against Boise State. And not just in the world, but on this very board. We have never played them, we most likely won't be playing them anytime in the near future. Quit your fucking bitching. They are a GOOD team, and their season has NO effect on our beloved Wolverines. Quit wishing bad things on them, and rooting for them to lose. We are Michigan fans, and we are above such petty squabbles.

2. Women, in general, have pissed me off this year. If your boyfriend beats you, don't believe you can change him. If you leave a good man for an alcoholic, don't complain about how he won't go to rehab for you. If you choose to date nothing but assholes who treat you poorly, don't complain to me or the other good men how you can't find a good man. Open your eyes, quit being stupid, and quit making excuses for your jerk-off of a man. The longer you complain, the less sorry for you I feel.

3. Men who don't step up and act like real men. Do not beat your women, quit your fucking drinking, and show the good woman that takes care of you and puts up with your shit everyday a little appreciation. You may not see it, but you aren't perfect, and plenty of women who AREN'T in love with you see it. Appreciate what you got and do better to be the type of man that your family can be proud of.

4. Oklahoma. Just the state in general. Everything about you, from your weather, to your residents, to your sports teams (Thunder aside) is absolutely horrible.

Damn... that feels better.... Merry Festivus MGoBlog!

Seriously, there should be more XXX images on this site.  What are you, a bunch of intellectual elitists too self-conscious to acknowledge your primal hunger for scantily clad coeds?  We are men, this is football.  J/K, but I'm serious.

I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're going to hear about it.

Brady Hoke: Your pointing has decreased exponentially since August. This is ANGAR!

Dave Brandon: Where to start? I'll go with that rug you call hair because everyone else has done the big ones. One of these days, that damn racoon will either a. jump off your head and attack MSC or b. die and start smelling. It's getting really gray man, it's gotta be almost dead.

Greg Mattison: Only improved our defense from 109 to 18. WHY NOT 100 SPOTS?

Special K: You have the music selection skills of a pre-teen girl attempting to impress her older brother's heavy metal friends.

NCAA Compliance Committee: One bowl game? ONE?!? And 9 schollies? I can't even get into this. What is done is done. At least make sure Auburn burns to the ground.

Brian: 45,000 points? Textbook e-overcompensation. I bet you drive a sports car, too.

THE_KNOWLEDGE: Spurned as THE TOP FRIEND, I now aspire to be THE TOP NEMESIS. Also, I got a parking ticket last week. Thanks for the heads-up, jerk.

.

Yes.

.

The Poster Formerly Known As Misopogon: I finally learn how to say your name and YOU CHANGE IT TO SOMETHING SIMPLE. Sonofabitch, how about that for a new name?

JMCWannabe: You're the only person that I actually know personally. Your partying has decreased substantially and I am disappointed. Drink MOAR when we hang out.

SixZero: User profiles, mofo, user profiles!

RationalMSUFan: Use less ration. I would rather dislike you with blind hatred than begrudgingly tolerate your opinion.

StephenRKass: We need a new picture of your wife on your profile. Reminds me too much of pictures of my mom from the 70s.

Everyone with a picture in their signature: GUH. Say something clever or funny. Under my self-appointed authority, I will allow SixZero to keep the BlockhaMs.

MGoVillain: Your nefariousness lately has been minimal, at best.

Bando Calrissian: You stole my thunder once this year. GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

ProfitGoBlue: No. 5 on Forbes' list? Increase profits!

Magnus: Why do I everytime I see you post I feel like Brandon Graham is posting? I'm pretty sure you're just Brandon Graham now.

Facepalm Guy: Y U SO TALL? Get shorter.

Lloyd Brady: No grievances.

[Disclosure: All comments directed at other MGoUsers are tongue-in-cheek, just in case your sarcasm meter is broken due to anticipation of the Feats of Strength]

I'd like to see us treat semi-literate opposing fans that post here with a bit more respect, and not shout them down with negbangs just because they root for the wrong team.  This probably goes in line with other grievances here about gratuitous neg-banging.  Non-cretin OSU and MSU fans - all 2.4 of them in the universe -are a rare breed akin to unicorns and should be encouraged to flourish.  Most posters here are pretty good about that, but I think the board as a whole could be a bit more welcoming to posters from opposing teams.

This is going to sound arrogant (fergodsakes), but we are better and classier than our rivals.  Let's act the part.

There are a few non-mouthbreathing opposing fans around here (GoBlogSparty comes to mind), and I think they are treated with a good amount of respect. The guys who sign up the day before the game, and come on here to post "WOOOOT U GUYZ SUX!!!" are the ones who receive in-kind responses.

You people have disappointed me in the following ways:

  1. People who don't respect the "No OT during the season" rule, then get pissy about it. I know, I know, sometimes interesting shit happens, and you'd like to discuss it. But I don't make the rules around here. I'm the mall cop, and continuing to post (for example) that Tool is coming to the Palace is a pain in my ass. I know some of you think that YOUR OT thread is a special snowflake that deserves to survive in the face of the rule. Odds are, you are wrong.
  2. The guy who posted PGB's real name and personal information because he was pissed about something. Obvious dick move is obvious.
  3. Michigan State fans. OH MY GOD, we get it. You're disrespected. You're pissed that the BCS selected the higher ranked team over the team that was lower ranked... with a worse record... and who was ineligible to be selected anyway. Move on, Kork. No one cares.
  4. Canada.  You know why.
  5. People who continue to bring RichRod into every discussion. It's the new Godwin's Law around here. And it makes Peggy Sad.
  6. The rest of you. Not sure why... but I'm sure you're on the list.

The whole "Tool coming to the Palace" thing is MGoBoard's version of CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS AT SMU. Everyone knows that it's not actually true that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS AT SMU, but nonetheless, every time someone mentions that meme, it gets propogated. Similarly, every time someone bitches that the mods killed off the "TOOL IS COMING TO THE PALACE" thread, they in actuality are propogating the meme that TOOL IS COMING TO THE PALACE.

Of course, everyone should remember at all times that the fact that TOOL IS COMING TO THE PALACE is not suitable board material during the season, so everyone should stop reminding us that TOOL IS COMING TO THE PALACE

just like that.

was that how the mods run this site is become pretty silly. The "Tool" thing was that you guys deleted that string, and the only reason I found out about it was I was lucky enough to click on it before you decided it was not worthy. I don't have to blog here, and you can continue to do this however Brian wants. It's just way different now than it has been in the last few years.

The rule for at least the past couple of years has been the same: no OT during the season.*  I get that you like Tool, but this isn't Twitter. It's a Michigan sports blog. This is not your source for everything under the sun... at least during the season. If this is how you would like to use MGoBlog, I suggest you return in 12 days.

*There is also a sub-rule that says "No creating threads to complain about the deletion of threads." That one is just to prevent the space-time continuum problems brought in by an infinite loop of threads.
