in the following ways:

Your constant complaining about Ohio's two coaching staffs.

Your constant bashing and/or supporting of RR. HE'S NOT OUR COACH ANYMORE LET IT GO.

Your incessant posting of all things Sparty. They're good now, too. GET OVER IT.

The incredible ability of some regular posters to effectively become trolls with the way they hijack threads with their vast and important opinions that get recycled everytime a topic comes up that they're sick of talking about and ready to "move on from..." as long as they get the final word.

When people try to tell me that Columbus is actually a decent town.

No.  Fuck Jenny's Ice Cream, fuck Katzinger's Deli.  Fuck everything about Columbus. Its only purpose for existance is to remind us that no matter where we live, at least it's better than Columbus.

Your sentiments are well taken, but I am gonna have to call shenanigans on dissing Jeni's Ice Cream - that is some serious gourmet shiz that is 100% deserving of the props it gets.  I'm convinced that there is nothing on Earth she cannot make into awesome ice cream.  It is a bit pricy, though. From last year, I remember a cone from Stucchi's - STUCCHI'S!! - being cheaper.

But Katzinger's?  Whatevs.  It's a Zingerman's wannabe and a perfect metaphor for how Columbus' collective loathing for Ann Arbor is borne out of its latent but futile quest to be more like A^2

I got a problem with people that automatically downvote my extremely insightful and informative posts just because they dislike me.  It hurts my feelings and I hope they get coal under their respective Festivus poles.

I have two issues with all of you here, and now you're going to hear about it!

1.  The MGoGrammar Police (the ones who actually do it in all seriousness and not jokingly).  Knock it off.  It's a forum fergodsakes!

2.  People who make sarcastic comments without the heads up that it's sarcastic.  Sarcasm is near impossible to detect through just written word, so please tell us before hand.  It just ends up making you and/or the person who replies to you look like an idiot (which is often me).

Thank you and enjoy your Festivus!

Unless the sarcasm is very subtle I'd think most clear minded readers will get it. I actually enjoy the biting replies to posters who miss the sarcasm. That's where things get funny.

I am all about keeping a higher standard for this board but these people really seem to want to wallow in the minutiae. I'm going to give you a hint. If I'm posting on an evening open thread, there's a pretty good chance I'm drinking and I don't proofread as closely when the game is on. Please don't get on my case for typing noone. I'm pretty good about there, their, and they're but if I'm watching over my computer while I type I may mess it up every now and then. I'll occasionally call my friends out for who/whom because they know I'm joking but I don't scour the board for it because I'm not an asshole.

I've got a problem with people who enable n00bery. If somebody asks a question that could be answered by a simple MGo/Google/wiki search, don't answer it for them and let them catch up to the 21st century on their own time.
Also, wtf is with people glorifying multiple posts and upvoting redundancy? Cave that shit, FFS.

I am sick unto death of people who wander through, ignorantly labeling messages as "flamebait." Democracy is a beautifal thing. That's the purpose of MGoBlog- if everyone has the chance to be heard, we will hear many fine things we would otherwise have missed amongst the inevitable quantity of ho-hum posts. But adding democracy to censorship has the opposite effect. It drags the discourse down to the need to appeal to all, even when that's impossible. Flaimbait should be like overturning a play on the field- it should be beyond dispute. otherwise it's subjective.

Oooh, and don't think I don't know the fate of this post! Ahem- sarcasm.

Now...no one leaves until someone pins me in wrestling!

And the weakness in my character that tempts me to make the same tired arguments against said broken records.  When I know that said tired arguments are exactly as useful and constructive  as the original broken record's.  That being not at all.

My new mantra:  Its okay for people to be wrong on mgoblog.  It's okay for people on mgoblog to be insane.  Its not up to me to correct them.  It's not even that constructive.

Are the students who complain about the alumni because we don't cheer loud or often enough, like to sit once in a while, prefer to sing The Victors rather than Sweet Caroline, find the Wave boring after 25+ years, serve craft beer at our tailgates rather than Natty Lite, arrive at the Big House before the kickoff, pay a hefty seat premium, etc.--the sames ones who call us every few months at dinner time to beg for money and job interviews?

what has become of how crazy the mods are now. They erase all kinds of stuff now, and we're not allowed to talk about anything that's not directly related ot Michigan football. One of the things I love about this site is that you can learn or talk about just about anything that's not religion or politics. I found out Tool is playing in Toledo next month (Which I'm now going to) and I'm lucky because the thread was erased. Bunch of crap if you ask me.
