Will PSU have a QB for their bowl?

Submitted by AC1997 on

Per ESPN, Penn State's three QB's are all in some sort of trouble and there is no clear picture as to who will be starting for their bowl game:

  • McGloin has a concussion after starting a fight with a WR.
  • Bolden was busted for stealing gatorade from a store.
  • Paul Jones has academic issues that may make him ineligible.

Hopefully no one picked PSU to win in their bowl confidence pools....

Magnus's spiel about how we need more than three scholarship QBs is taking on a whole new meaning. That I'm saying our guys will get caught stealing or brawling, but still...troublesome.

I don't think it's irrational at all.  One extreme example is Memphis's 2005 football season.  All three scholarship QB's suffered a broken leg (two of them in the same game!) by mid-October of that season.  They moved a WR to QB and snuck into some low level bowl game if I recall correctly.

They got this far without an offense, why should the bowl be any different.

Ta-ching.

But srsly... has any program fallen as far, as fast?  Miami (YTM) had "issues" for generations, so the "10 of 10" story this summer wasn't really that surprising.  tSIO is getting a slap on the write plus Urbie, so they haven't fallen.  Other teams have fallen due to bad coaches and recruiting etc. (Volunteers come to mind, and, er, us)... but its not just about a team, their REPUTATION has been crushed.  AND the team is unraveling.  WOW.

Reall wish it wasn't a B1G team, then I could enjoy watching the trainwreck.  But I can't.

It's actually kind of weird, their fourth (or technically third) string QB is named McGregor.

How the hell do you get McGloin and McGregor to both be walk on quarterbacks? That's awesome.
