I have 3 extra tickets, but they are 125 a piece. But I got them off the Mgoblue website so they have to be in the Michigan section. I bought them on accident....

I did the bowl order reservation thing before they announced the bowl they were going too. I figured it would give me first priority to buy them when available. Well apparently they just go ahead and charge your credit card without telling you (I probably missed the fine print somewhere). But I can't afford the trip down there or take that much time off work. If this is Pasadena I'll drop my savings on a trip there. But to go to New Orleans and drop a ton of money on a hotel or plane ticket is not worth it to me right now.

New Orleans Marriott on Canal St. Was the first hotel I came across with rooms avail. Made reservation day tix went on sale though.  Rather pricey for a single night (driving in day of game since i'm only 3 hrs away) but it's my first time seeing Blue play, so what the hell!

So, have any students got their tickets yet?  I got mine today, and they were in section 623.  I was under the impression that students would be sitting in the 120s.  Did anyone else get in this situation?  Was I wrong on assuming that the student section would be so close?  And, I bought them about 3 minutes after they first went on sale...

I'm pretty sure that's where mine are too. If I knew that I could possibly not be lower bowl with student tickets I would have just bought Plaza tickets through the university. Kind of stupid for the university to not put all the students close to the field cause we will be the loudest when Va Tech is coming to our end. Just shows how the university wants to make money first by selling those tickets to alumni willing to pay.

This is part of the reason so many schools have difficulty selling their allotment of tickets.  If you wait a week or two and buy tickets elsewhere, you get a choice of where to sit and often at a reduced price.  Think about VT having gone to bowls the past several years and students and alumni previously been burned in a similar way.  Why wouldn't they just wait and get their tickets elsewhere?  Will the same thing happen with Michigan fans in future bowl games as word gets around that you might get stuck with overpriced sucky seats if you buy through the university?

But it was worth it to me, not only to prevent hassle, but be sure I'd be sitting surrounded by a lot of blue. I've had travel agencies book trips before, and if you're in the mixed sections, or in with the opposing fans, it kinda drives me nuts. I want to be around my own kind, even if the seats are a little less central than I could get on Stubhub. (Not saying you can't find seats for sale in the Michigan sections...you're just taking a chance).  Though I'm pretty happy with my sec 116 seats.

Don't forget that by buying through the Michigan AD, you are helping them sell out their allotment, so they don't have to shell out for the unbought tickets. Yeah, it's going to be a bit more expensive, but think aboutt the difference between the ticket price and what you could have paid on StubHub as a donation or something like that.

Yeah I'm in 626.  U of M screwed over the students to make a buck.  They could have told us that they would put the students in the worst possible seats, I would have forked over an extra 50 bucks for descent seats.  It's good to know that all that tuition money that they get from us doesn't really mean much.  I'll remember this when I get a call in 3 years asking for donations.

I just picked mine up, and I'm in section 126.  I bought mine a couple hours after going on sale.  I have no idea why everyone is spread out.  I'm about to graduate, so the only thing I can think of is credit hours (maybe).  However, that doesn't seem to make very much sense to me for the bowl game.

When everyone put in their order. If that changed anything. If those in the upper deck waited till later in the afternoon, or next day, people like you who did it fairly early are down, but around the corner, and those who did it just as they opened got seats more on the side.

Can't be.  I'm graduating on Sunday, and I ordered my tickets about 2 minutes after it opened.  And I'm in section 623.  I am a little ticked off.  I emailed the ticket office, and they said that they tried to put as many seniors as possible in the good seats, but there were too many, which I say BS to that.  Oh well I guess.

but just saw on espn.com (dont know if this got posted yet) Martin and Molk invited to Senior Bowl...congrats to those two!!!

Edit: and in the spirit of this thread according to stubhub Sugar bowl is #2 in ticket sales 1 obviously being the NCG.

Saw 50 yard line, second level tickets (sec 242, row 1 = 50 yd line) on e-bay last Friday, auction ended this past Monday.  $180 a piece starting out ($360 for the pair).  These were top of the line tickets to say the least, and starting out at face value.  They rose to $500 with a minute to go, $510 with ~30 seconds.  I was ready to pull the trigger at $520 (pricey for me, put for elite tickets I was pumped and had no problem forking over the dough).  I haven't used e-bay in quite sometime and forgot that you have to 'confirm' your bid after you place it from the main page.  Bidding with only ~10 seconds left I ran out of time to get my bid in again. FFFFFUUUUUUUUU!!!

So whoever bought those tickets, and I'm only positive it's a MGoBlogger!, you best enjoy them!  I'm still sulking.

Cool Story Bro, I know.

I'm taking my ten year old son.  Last year was his first Michigan bowl game.  It was 20 years to the day since I saw my first Michigan bowl game.  It was the Gator Bowl, but a much different result.
