OT. Beware Virus Warning
I just had a Virus blocked on MGO by my $24.00/yr AVG protection. I don't have anythng else open, so I am sure It was here.
EDIT: It happened it the "a few minor recruiting notes" thread. My arrow was scrolling over the You Tube video in the first post when the "threat" was blocked.

Well shit. I just spent the better part of last night fighting off a virus (not from here)

Technically META althought hopefully OT for me...
I still am fuzzy on how this pops every now and then. Do people somehow hack into the blog and put viruses there which we can get by visiting?

Thanks for the heads-up. Time to switch from work pc to home mac.
Also - semi-related along the lines of INTERWEBZ - anyone wanting to tell their friends they know how to 'hack the internet' can use this fun website. All you do is choose what you want your hacking to look like and start typing random keys like a madman.
Enjoy.

On north campus, I'm going to make the Computer Sceince majors so jealous with my hacking skillz.

He's a little mad now that he's lost the support of the largest Michigan blog.

When I bought my first Mac the salesman asked if I wanted to purchase virus protection. I actually laughed at her.
4 years later, no bugs, no issues at all. Worth the money.

We will check everything ASAP. If anyone else has an issue please email me with details; right now I just have the one report and can't reproduce it.

Why pay when you can get the best for free? It's all about Microsoft Secuirty Essentials, that and idk what browser you use but if it's IE change it (i recomend firefox)
December 14th, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
Go Chrome. It's the fastest and likely the most secure. Firefox is actually worse than IE.
December 14th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
This. Security Essentials is the way to go. Why pay for something that isn't as good as you get for free?
December 15th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
Looks like I am the only one who got the warning. What's up with that? I feel like "he hate me".
I had the free stuff and still picked up viruses, here and elsewhere.Since I doled out the 24 bucks, I've had no problems, even during the big melt down a while back. What's 2 loonies a month anyway. That's less than 7 cents a day

for some reason. Of course, MS's various vile virii won't load either.

...you're going to make me work at work tomorrow, aren't you?

<br>Hmmm...ever think these virus attacks might be from some employers...?

I would love to see a well-researched projection regarding annual lost productivity due to mgoblog. The figures would put Tropico to shame.

screw working that's why we have an IT department, I won't ever be able to get that moment back when someone posts a picture of RR in a hat or another Sparty No! Thread.

It was either a distraught Spartan fan mad that we were in the sugar bowl, or a mad Ohio fan who's upset about Hoke's win.

I can't help but wonder if it is going to have a spot for keeping track of couches immolated, or "days since the last couch burning?"
