Alright Wayne! I root for GVSU in DII because of where I grew up but if it's not going to be them it should be one of the other Michigan schools at least.

As a side note, Winston-Salem needs to hire a new groundscrew, grass isn't looking to good today

that stadium is literally less than 10 miles from my house and the field always looks that way. during the summer they use it as a race track and they have demolition derbys and all kinds of what not there that destroys the field. but you're right, you'd think they could do a little more to make the field at least playable on.

Good luck WSU, from a GVSU grad.

For those of you not familiar with D2, the Northeast Region (SR1?) is historically awful. Like, the Big East having an autobid bad. The last NE team to make it to the championship was in 2003, when GVSU was still in the NE.

On the other side of the bracket, Pitt State (KS) and Delta State (MS) are traditionally pretty strong. PSU used the be THE team (before GVSU and NoDak) and appears to be back this year.

Wow. Awesome stuff for the Warriors.

I was in my grad program at WSU when Joique Bell (running back who was invited to the Senior Bowl) was there and it was said to be the first time in years that Wayne had a football team worth following. That they have actually gotten better since his departure is remarkable. I'll be breaking out my Green-and-Gold hoodie for the final next week

Also, Paul Winters is the head coach at Wayne and has obviously become a star in Div. II. Sometimes those guys leave head jobs to become assistants at major programs. Might not be a bad idea for Hoke to look at PW as a potential future member of the coaching staff here if there is ever an opening at a spot that would be a field of expertise for him. I'm sure he knows the PSL like the back of his hand.

Great game by WSU. I think the brand of football we use is very similar to what M will be running in the future - Power ground game with shotgun passing and heavy play-action. Nice to see other Michigan schools taking teams to the woodshed.

Geaux Warriors!

I was at this game, and I don't think I was the only one in the crowd who was surprised when Winston-Salem ran a HB draw during their two-minute drill..... down by 7...... on their own half of the field....... with no timeouts...... 3 TIMES. It appeared that this was their default first down play in the two-minute drill. After watching a national top 5 team get run up and down the field by the lowest ranked team in the field, this series of events was the icing on the cake, in my opinion, that Wayne State was the better coached team out there this afternoon.
