I'd guess it does nothing for it. The NFL will measure him and give him their tests and base their decision on that. The choice of the individuals who vote for the Rimington will mean the same as the votes of the idiots in the media who didn't put him on the first team All Big Ten.

With all due respect to David Baas, I can't think of a guy that deserves it more.

This is great for recruiting too!  CONGRATS TO MOLK AND THE TEAM!

I finally learned what a reach block was because of you, Mr. Molk (and Brian, too!).   What a pleasure it has been watching you develop over the past 4 years.  I will miss your feisty demeanor and general disdain for media types.

you deserve it.  We appreciate your hard work with everything you've had to endure during your tenure at Michigan.

Maybe someone more talented with graphics could do a photoshop/video clip of Molk and his  pre-snap head bob that got so much attention after MSU game.

I'm glad; really glad for him.  What an honor.  I am so glad he is getting this kind of appreciation for all of his hard work and sacrifice.  He is as great a Captain as any in my memory.  His play this year was flawless.  We'll miss him when he is gone.

Great player who had to deal with loads of BS he didn't sign up for.

<br>Glad his play is being recognized, but we should commend his leadership in holding this team together even more.

Espn blurb shows that tonight's show will have the Home Depot Coach of the Year award.  Not sure if that's the real award or not.  As it's ESPN and as Home Depot = Game Day, I'm guessing Ess EEE See coach.

ESPN site adds:

In addition to the nine player awards, the show will feature the live presentation of the NCFAA (National College Football Awards Association) Contribution to College Football Award; The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award; The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team; the Disney Spirit Award; and student-athletes selected to the Walter Camp All-America Team.

There isn't one "real" award.  Any organization can give out one if it wants.  The Liberty Mutual one has only been around since 2006, in fact, so I don't know why you'd consider it the best.

The most prestigious coaching awards are probably the AFCA Coach of the Year and the Walter Camp Coach of the Year.

Could NOT happen to a more wonderful, terrifying person! My he bring his scowl and swagger to the NFL, that all may fear his thunderous snaps!

(P.S.- The Lions could use a talented young center, maybe???)

Mgoblue.com press release has this quote from Molk:

"I am truly humbled to be the Rimington Trophy recipient," said Molk. "It's such an honor considering all of the great centers around the country, including the other finalists. It's an individual award, but it's a credit to our offensive line, our team and our coaching staff. I'm proud to represent the University of Michigan."

Also:

during the ESPNU Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Molk also was named a first team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation.

I love how that's an automatic response for our (Hoke's?) players now. I would be absolutely shocked if any of our players got any sort of award or recognition and didn't thank his teammates/coaches/school.
