I want the weakest opponent Michigan can get.  BCS win = better recruiting and the big mo going into spring practice.

KSU > TCU > Boise State > Alabama

The problem with Boise is they have no depth on defense. If Michigan is able to run the ball effectively against them, it will wear Boise down and they would be able to win the game. Boise has a good power run game but it is not better than most of the teams we faced this year. Kellen Moore is a great quarterback, but they lost their two best receivers last year and their biggest threat is a tight end. Boise also likes to run a 4-2-5 and they hardly ever blitz, relying on a four man rush to get pressure on the qb. They also have a hard time keeping up with elite athletes that have great speed, which we have. Boise would be a good match up and I think we would win that game.

Baylor is a long shot for a BCS bid, and probably won't make it anyway, but as a fan of the game in general I would love to see it, but as a UM fan, I would not want any part of it.  It is one of the few teams that even a 21 point 4th quarter lead would not be secure against. Of the others, KState is from a BCS conference and should be the easiest to defend against, so the ease of victory and upside to defeating a team from a BCS conference makes it my pick.

After 2 trips to AA from KC this year, I had no plans on going to a bowl game. If my alma mater plays my favorite team since I can remember, I would have to think about going.

I guess I would actually go with KSU in the Sugar.

If not that, then TCU in the Sugar.

Playing Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl is pretty sexy* to me as well, but it would have been sexier had JH still been their coach.

*not to be confused with terms like "interesting" or "neat."  I really mean that playing in the Fiesta or any other BCS game is like my very own veritable Viagra.

TCU. Beat Boise on the road. Lost a thriller to RGIII on the road. Lost to Iowa's 2nd Cousin (SMU) which was bad but Boise did not win the conference and did not beat TCU at home. Both have similar schedules. I think the Michigan vs TCU matchup is a really good one that everyone is going to bitch at for both teams being outside the top 10 BCS-wise, especially all of Spartan-Nation (all 20 of them). Good luck eating at Outback tonight. Make sure you get your bloomin onion their Sparty, I heard their insanely good! Great job this year Blue, first year Sugar, Second Year Rose and beyond!

I recognize the no-upside angle when it comes to non-AQ teams, but I would really like to play Boise State. Kansas State is boring, and TCU seems nondescript this season. Boise State would be interesting to finally play after all they've hung around for all these years, and I'd like to see Kellen moore play a defense I'm actually familiar with.

I know this isn't really a part of this thread (Not nearly enough points to start a thread) but I know the selection show is at 815 on ESPN...can anyone tell me when they actually announce? Do they usually drag it out  or do they announce the actual match-ups at 815?

I can't believe the choices in the Sugar Bowl come down to TCU, K State or Boise. What happend to good teams in the major bowls? Is it because they limit BCS games to 2 teams from a given conference? Hate to take a sparty side here, but they are way better than all three of those teams. So is South Carolina and Arkansas. What an unattractive matchup the Sugan Bowl is--if we weren't in it (fingers crossed) it almost wouldn't be worth watching.

I want Boise and I disagree with the no upside argument to beating Boise. They are basically the Gonzaga of college football, and yes I'm aware the sports are different. But Boise has gained a lot of national respect in the past five years and they deserve their top 10 ranking. Everyone knows Boise shows up for the big games (except for TCU, who apparently has Boise kryptonite) and beating them would be more than Georgia, Oklahoma, etc. have been able to do. And really, is it embarrassing to lose to them anymore? Doesn't everyone expect Boise to pull these out? I also think Boise is more vulnerable this year than they have been in a while so we have a shot. And if you don't like Boise then it is a chance to show people they aren't as good as their ranking.

I don't want to play KSU even though I think it would be a great game. I'm a big fan of Bill Snyder and I'd rather pummel Boise.

Word is VT is going to the Sugar bowl, which is ridiculous given what happened yesterday.

Here is the link.

"Virginia Tech to Sugar, Virginia to Chick-Fil-A."

Nice system where you can get blown out in your championship game and make a bowl. And I'm a VT graduate and fan, and I love VT, but they don't deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl, period.
