Can we drop that Widget yet? Someone wrote their thoughts into code and we've taken it as God's word this week.

Agreed. That site is assuming that tcu makes the top 16, that Mich makes the top 14 and that Ala keeps the 2nd spot.

Poorly named thread

facing West Virginia

Interesting, palm still has tcu in. I was wondering why all the experts were assuming the sugar would take tcu over wv, palm seems to have made this change based solely on Clemson in the orange rather than VT.

I think WVU would be the weakest team in a BCS Bowl...still not a bad team though, but wouldn't mind facing them

Nardudeski nailed it. Please stop linking that silly widget.
It doesnt take rankings, poll points, computer polls, SoS, nor any of the details really needed to predict who will play in the BCS bowls. It's almost worthless.

probably should have just dumped this into the thread 3 down - nothing particularly special about this little gizmo

NCG - LSU - OkSt
Sugar - Bama - TCU
Fiesta - UM - Stanford
with the Rose and Orange matchups already set. I cannot comprehend MSU getting picked over UM

to play WVU, basically because it is a no win situation. If UM won they would get no credit because it is a Big East team. Not to mention WVU's passing attack makes me a little nervous, given the yards they racked up when they played LSU.
Bottom line, I would prefer to see a non-Big Least team even if it was in a non-BCS game.

Reading this blog, it seems like every possible match up is a 'no-win' unless we play Alabama. Let's just enjoy the hell out of being in a BCS bowl with a first year coach after all we've been through the last 4-5 years. Being in BCS = WIN

Beating WVU = winning a BCS game. When was the last time Michigan as a program managed to do that? That is a win. This is no regular season game; a win over anyone (including Houston) in a BCS game would be huge.

A BCS game? That's crazy! I'm just used to playing in them and hoping USC doesn't beat us by more than 14

We're going to destroy TCU!!!

Ok you really need to get that picture out of your signature. It clogs up the threads.

When are the BCS bowl matchups picked?

Tomorrow at 8

That widget also has Louisville in the Orange bowl as a possibility.

That is because it comes down to BCS rankings for the tie breaker. WVU has it locked up...but since there is "technically" a chance (there isn't) they are showing it.

I am optimistic that Michigan will get an invite to the Sugar Bowl. To prove it, I reserved four 1-bedroom condos near the stadium for Michigan fans to enjoy New Orleans and the game. I will trade 3 nights of lodging (starting Jan 3) for 2 great seats to the bowl game. 2 additional 1-bedroom condos are available for rent, same timeline - GREAT PRICE FOR M FANS.
